formula1 内の Quickshifter- によるリンク Webber: "Ferrari most disappointing team so far"

[–]CookieMonsterFL 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

The last part of my comment I think is the kicker. We look at NASCAR, WEC, GT3 racing and see much much longer races. 1.5 hours is tough to create multiple compounds that will make drivers feel comfortable throughout the race.

My proposition is to remove a ton of compounds (wait, hear me out) that we see now. Clearly, designing one tire to degenerate over time is proving tough in a 1.5 hour race setting. Now Pirelli are designing almost 5 different slick compounds, all with varying levels of grip and fall off points. As so heartwrenchingly obvious for Ricciardo fans at Monaco, Lewis went way longer than expected on his compounds.

Ultimately, the point of so many compounds was to give more of an advantage to the overtaking driver to do so without losing to much grip from an aero-push behind the car in front. Making a compound that is reliable but falls off when pushed is great, but when aero-push stalls your progress behind a much slower car, you will wear your tires out.

But as seen, its now turned into a lottery of guessing which tire compound works best for the track and/or the car. There doesn't seem to be consistency even in the teams themselves. Basically, take advantage of a 'broken' tire deg compound then profit.

We NEED to fix the aero-push issue before tire degs form any consistency from a good race and acceptability standpoint. Otherwise regardless of the amount and pretty colors of the tires we get, the faster car stuck behind the slower car will always impact tire degs regardless if it is hard, medium, soft, or super-ultra-unreal-dynamic softs.

I think Mark should be directing his frustration at FIA who is telling Pirelli how to engineer these tires. Pirelli 's engineers haven't messed anything up that they weren't supposed to, save for those issues at Spa a year ago. Beyond that, Pirelli have done a sterling job.

But when comparing Pirelli/F1 to Michelin/WEC, there is no comparison. Michellin have developed a great compound that can be punished for speed but give up quicker, or can last multiple stints with the same grip levels. The drivers have confidence to know how the tires will wear and respond to attacking. Also, Michelin have developed a 'hybrid' intermediate slick tire that acts like a sponge in intermediate->dry conditions. Looks like a slick, but it isn't. So for Mark, the series he is racing is nailing it perfectly with the governing body and its official tire carrier. The sport he covers now has issues with tire deg and wanting to create a tire show that lasts 1.5 hours instead of WEC's 6.

At Sebring, the end of the race signals a couch to be burned at T7. The firefighters in recent years have been more predicting and put it out quicker than before. Even a few years ago it would just burn to the ground before any authority came over to put it out. Sportscar infields are weird.

Technically its the N24 layout, as they use the chicane that avoids the T2-4, so its T1 right then immediate left.

This configuration includes the Nordschliefe and is only run for this event.

I still have my trust in the ACO, but you are right; something seems fishy especially when you break down sectors and laptimes. From a layman's standpoint, it even appears they are sandbagging, especially when they were formation flying for long stints in the opening races too. I'll keep an extra close watch on them during the race for sure.

You have exactly described the weirdness of this election to me. Not really that she doesn't have a shot, but the insane contrasts of echo chambers not only on reddit, but on facebook, comment sections, message boards. Its hard to gauge the importance of anything or the relevance of everything if there dozens of fervently supported opinions and why all the other scenarios won't happen. This election has never looked more cloudy from a predictive and understanding standpoint. Really crazy.

I'd say so, seems like the third car is what was needed to have a decently 'clean' race with at least the other two bullets suffering major issues at some point throughout the race. Without that third security blanket, each team is going to have to take some risks at some point.

Right? Safety implementations can be done to a track without ruining its "physique" if you will.

There have been a few modifications to tracks over the years that remove a level of mystique or just scenery to improve the track safety via run-offs.

reactiongifs 内の infidiLL によるリンク MRW my wife asked me why I'm playing Overwatch when I haven't touched a video game in years

[–]CookieMonsterFL 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

Nope, same way. All I mean ALL of my friends (annecodatal) on PC are playing the absolute shit out of OW, but buying it and playing it over the weekend, I found I don't like the game really and it comes down to your argument. I guess with OW I found out that I like static, simple FPS in terms of what is given to you. It's why I loved Counter Strike so much because of the simplicity of the game which requires skill in terms of ability to get good.

I see Overwatch as a game needing you to understand roles, the characters in those roles, how to react to a team combo with those characters in those roles, and how to manipulate the map and game scenario based on above criteria. That is fun for a lot for people, but for whatever reason OW has fallen so completely flat for me.

I guess i'm weird?
