Mod there, and the mod in question. We recently announced new rules to get rid of witchhunts, speculation, and theories in an effort to clean up the subreddit. Most of the subreddit at that point was one of the three, and people weren't happy because they felt we were being unfair and blowing this out of proportion (we weren't, people were getting harassed in real life, even the families of the victims). We created a subreddit for theories and speculation, /r/theoryOfMaM.

Yeah except that isn't what really happened is it Shill? There was no drama before you came, there were no issues before you came, then all of a sudden here you are making a bullshit case for bullshit changes. There were no witchhunts and there was no need to clean up the sub. It was fine. Nobody from that subreddit was harassing anyone in real life, so don't even try that bullshit. Events occurred on a different social media, not related to Reddit or the members or content of the MaM sub. Don't even try to tie that bullshit in with the MaM sub or reddit because just didn't happen here.

You did what you did for your own selfish reasons and you damn well know it. Last time you got caught being this much of a twat, your own real life buddies laughed at you until you had to go into hiding and change your account.

To cap it all off I complain to Spez in an AMA about the behavior of clowns like you without specifically naming you and your ignorant ass bans me for calling for harassment of a mod, which is so unbelievably preposterous.

Here's the kicker kid, i erased 6 months worth of posts from that sub and abandoned ship long before you banned me due to your ego being bruised in that AMA. You accomplished precisely jack shit, and the fact that you have to go on a damage control spree is evidence of just how much of a piece of shit you really are. Spez pretty much told you he's gong to make changes to eliminate fucks like you. Justice is coming.

Hey, I'm also a mod at MaM, although I've been largely inactive.

Trust me when I say that changes to the sub were in the works prior to u/notanestleshill coming on board, it just appeared that they coincided.

So basically there was a bunch more Find The Boston Bomber scenarios happening. Posting a lot of personal info and creating witch hunts is how subreddits get banned, as well, and we didn't want that to happen.

It's a difficult line because unlike other TV show subs, like, say, r/FlashTV for example, all our characters are real people.

There's still a sub where you can post stuff like that, but we're washing our hands of that type of content, and making the focus purely about the TV show (edit and false conviction cases). We're also trying to organize posts a bit better with the flairing system.

I definitely agree things could have handled better all around, though. If you have any suggestions for the sub I'm willing to listen, but we can't go back to it being a complete free for all.

I'm going to be taking a more active role in the sub as well, and see if I can help improve things moving forward.

Buuuuuullshit! People were largely speculating harmlessly on people who were speculated on in the doc or shown in it.

Why cant you guys just admit you could not be arsed modding then threw your toys out the pram to cover it up.

Bullshit, the video originated from Facebook and was occurring before any cross posting occurred on reddit. It also occurred without any prompting from the sub, and had zero to do with it's content.

You didn't get borderline shit, you had people speculating who they thought did it and why. What you didn't have was anyone acting on that speculation.

What you DID have was the media and attorneys applauding the work that sub was doing with crowd sourcing documents and evidence photos, then passing on findings to Zellner.

Aside from all that, when you have an issue with one person doing something, regardless where it occurred first, you deal directly with that individual , not punish the whole sub.

What you guys did was royally fuck a bunch of people over, hell I got banned and didn't even do what I was accused of. Since when does complaining to Spez qualify as asking people to harass NestleShill? I'm pretty sure I never asked nor encouraged anyone to do anything of the sort?

You guys killed that sub over something you had no control over, something that occurred outside of the sub and originated somewhere else, but then you guys never bother to fully investigate anything, so I wouldn't expect you to know that.

It's dead and the fallout already happened, there's no saving that sub, I hope you find a new mod job, that one has pretty much become a dead end.

It's not just that they don't agree, it's that it just was plain wrong to do. You effectively told your main content submitters, people that paid for the release of data, that they were loonies because maybe 4 of the same people would post wild speculation. You let a video that originated somewhere else become your battle cry for punishing those people that were responsible for the traffic to your sub. It's mind numbingly illogical from start to finish.

Ahem...some of us are banned due to very ridiculous reasons. I have never done any of this doxing, witch hunting etc. He banned me for the 2nd time a few days ago. I've never had any complaints, every other mod at MaM has handled themselves in a professional way, not so with this new one. I do wish you guys had communicated with us, or been more selective with your mod choice. Did I mention? I'm still banned....

If you have any suggestions for the sub I'm willing to listen, but we can't go back to it being a complete free for all.

Here's an idea: ban the people who repeatedly break the rules and don't punish everyone else with draconian moderation.

I'm going to be taking a more active role in the sub as well, and see if I can help improve things moving forward.

Strongly consider getting rid of /u/NotANestleShill. That person is a dishonest petty shit-stirring asshole not an effective mod.
