I thought both games had a fairly equal amount of "filler" side quests (in the new witcher DLC, some quests were literally just "here's a cave, kill the monster inside please") and amazing side quests as well.

It kind of makes me think, Bethesda must have played the Witcher and realised how lacking their systems were by now.

I didn't even join Fallout for 1 and 2 - I've heard by the time we got to 3 it was watered down. So players of the first 2 through to number 4 must be tearing their hair out.

I'm a massive fallout fan from the orginal fallout through to new vegas and fallout 4. Completed them all multiple times (well tactics only once That was enough) and the witcher 3 has destroyed fallout 4 for me. I loved fallout 4 but it was really bland with the story telling. I never competed the first witcher due to getting bored with the fighting mechanics. Didn't have a computer at the time to play 2. Now I have witcher 3 on ps4 and it might be my favorite rpg ever. I can't get enough of it though it fit a bit easy din around level 20 so I bumped difficulty up. Size and scope its brilliant and I haven't even completed it yet.

I never really got why people downvote when someone disagrees with them. there's a big difference between saying "lolz witcher sucks fallout 4 rules!" and just saying "yeah, i preferred one over the other since someone was asking if people like that exist"

I personally love Witcher 3, but i think dragon age inquisition is a better game, but i completely understand why people think otherwise and i know my opinion isn't popular, yet if i express anything positive about inquisition it tends to get downvoted. it can be frustrating to the point where i just don't talk about it

Even if you prefer to play fallout 4 to witcher 3. I've played both.

When you compare the games. The witcher 3 is a game you show people that proves that games are more than just a game, they are a work of art and their stories are as worthy as any fiction book out there.

Fallout 4 is a game to have fun doing dumb stuff in, and there is nothing wrong with that. I have fun in it, but it is no where near the caliber of game that the witcher 3. Witcher 3 honors and surpasses the books it is based on in many ways. Fallout 4 shits on what it was based on. All in favor of money and more money.

Fallout 4 is not a bad game. It is a bad fallout game, and a bad a rpg. If we compare it to something like farcry, or call of duty, and such. It stands up with them as being enjoyable yet forgettable games, like lots of hollywood blockbusters.

The question is what you are looking for in your game. There is nothing wrong with wanting the hollywood blockbuster type game if that is what you enjoy. We all game as a hobby and your choices are as valid as the next guys.

I dunno, like i've said, i really love Witcher 3, but if i were to show it to someone they would probably just see "oh, those graphics look good" but then ultimately that my quests end up being "kill 10 enemies", just like every other game. Witcher 3 is really good quality, but i don't really see why people look at the story and consider it exceptional. It's definitely great, and has parts that pull at your heartstrings, but i can say the same thing about Mass Effect 3 for example, or really most other story based RPGs out there

DAMN STRAIGHT. This DLC is fucking amazing. CDPR is my favorite company now. Fuck EA, Fuck Activision and fuck blizzard. They all failed me and just want money. CDPR wants to make amazing games AND make money. It's sad to see what a company like Blizzard USED to be and what it turned into. They went from warcraft and rock n roll racing diablo to WoW to the fucking BS they're pulling today. Overwatch is ok. But I have never been immersed to a game more than I have with the Witcher series. Insanely rich in content even the fucking small witcher contracts have more fun content in them than these new shitty games do.

Whats the verdict on this DLC? I don't know if I've ever bought DLC in my life, apart from Civ V expansions. Usually I beat a game, then put it away and refuse to pay more for a game I already own.

Is this like Witcher 3 add ons? Or like Witcher 3.5 here's another game?

Blood and wine is another map area completely. It is very large, has many interesting side quests and the main quest of the dlc is highly engrossing. Most certainly worth the money. I always take a long time with games and I'd bet I'll be getting 40 or so hrs (if thats how you determine the value). Hearts of stone felt less substantial but worth the $10 price mark and was just more quests really.

Witcher 3 has 13 dlc's if I recall correctly. All free. Additionally there are 2 expansions, which you have to pay for understandably.

Just because a game has a lot of story, doesn't mean it has a good story. I've tried playing this game twice and after a few hours of "go talk to this person, now this person, now this person. Okay here's some gold" with a very small number of clunky-controlled battles against uninteresting enemies in between, I could never bring myself back to it. I've heard that it gets better after the beginning but I've always believed that a game should make you interested right away and The Witcher really makes no effort to do that.

Pardon me but what do you mean by "uninteresting enemies"? Every monster you kill in this game has a unique backstory attached to it; every last one of them, not just the contract monsters. The combat is varied enough for me, 5 signs with different types of bombs and oils are hich you can freely combine to make your own style, not to mention the skill slot which also add another layer of variation.

There is no one solution fits all for the monsters. You must use different type of equipments and skills. Flying, wraith, ogres, etc... they are all different.

Please do explain the uninteresting part. I have seen people say it a lot but can't understand.

I've never played the Witcher, but honestly having a good story is not necessary to having a good game. If you can fun with the game, it shouldn't matter what the narrative is. Narrative games are out there and they're good, if you want to hear a good story. When I sit down to play a game, 80% of the time I'm not looking for a movie experience; I'm looking for a fun experience.
