Jalandhar, May 26
Two days after the kidnapping of a woman from Birring village in which the police was on its toes due to lack of clues, the CIA wing of city police today claimed to have solved the case with the arrest of the woman and her paramour.Interestingly, the woman who was kidnapped by four car-borne persons from her home on May 24, had herself plotted her kidnapping in connivance with her paramour.
Vivek Sheel Soni, ADCP, Investigations, said on May 24, some car-borne persons had kidnapped a woman from her home at Birring village after seriously injuring her husband. Considering the kidnapping genuine, her husband, Sunil Kumar, who was an employee in a finance company, got a kidnapping case registered at Rama Mandi police station.
After the police initiated an investigation, it was found that the woman herself plotted her kidnapping as she was not in good terms with her husband and was in an extra marital affair. During police inquires, it was found that the woman had gone to Malaysia with her boyfriend Benjamin Maseeh, a resident of Madara village in Jandusingha on May 9 and had returned on May 15. Soni said after returning from Malaysia, the woman had asked her boyfriend to kidnap her from her home so that her husband could not become aware of their extra marital relationship.
ADCP Soni said the police had arrested the woman and her paramour, Benjamin Maseeh. Now, a fresh case had been slapped on the duo under Section 323, 325 and 308 of the IPC, adding that the kidnapping case registered earlier would be put for cancellation in the court.
