I think you're reading way too much into this. In the England vs. Australia game last week Fraser Forster started in goal and was replaced by Tom Heaton while Joe Hart sat on the bench. This doesn't change the fact that Hart is England's first choice keeper. It's about preparation and match fitness for the Euros.

I really hope you are right, but dont underestimate the ties between Real Madrid and the national team. I lived half my grown life in Spain and am familiar with the way of thinking. Difference is also that De Gea havent been Spains number 1 like Hart to England. For a long time now he have been fighting with Casillas to make that spot his, its a perfect leverage for them.

I very well think you could be right. However, and don't quote me on this, doesn't Del Bosque have a very strong relationship with Iker Casillas? Even though we could argue that De Gea is in much greater form than Casillas, I feel like Del Bosque would choose the latter because of 1) his sheer experience and 2) close ties. You could be right of course, but in my opinion I think it's just Del Bosque.

Casillas is there in the Spanish squad to keep the team together. He's arguably one of the most experienced players ahead of even the likes of Iniesta, & to be honest he hasn't been half as bad for the national team as he is right now with Porto.

And like many have said, displacing Casillas now before he decides to retire from international football will cause a certain extent of unrest in the dressing room.

I really don't see why De Gea will kick up a fuss over this (and make people speculate that a move to Real Madrid will solve this). Casillas is near the end of his professional career & I am more than certain De Gea will succeed him as Spain's first choice goalkeeper for years to come.

He does that as well, i think Mourinho was the only one, so far, that have come on bad terms with Casillas. He have been one of the most important voices in the wardrobe both in Madrid and the national team.

You've lived half your grown life in Spain!? Well then. Fek off you dirty Spaniard - you're going to give this subreddit fleas!

I believe you are overthinking the entire situation. It is not like Spain were faced against an extremely tough opponent, such as another European nation. Instead they were up against Korea, as you said.

Casillas himself has an ego and is not going to lose his beloved spot in the National team that easily (Although, Big Dave is miles ahead of him now). In addition, as mentioned before it was a friendly between Korea and Spain, which means a different lineup and perhaps tactics is inevitable. Del Bosque does have a tough decision when it comes to picking Casillas or De Gea, but in the end of the day, I believe and hope De Gea will stay to get a taste of Mourinho and what he has in store for the future.

Lastly, don't overthink your English man! You did a good job getting your opinion across. Keep doing your best, and you will improve.

I'll receive the idea of losing DDG far better if he left for 30 million plus. What was shitty about last transfer window was that he had one year on his contract, so Madrid could either get him for a ridiclously cheap price or wait until this summer to get him for free. Now that he has signed a contract until 2020, it's not as bad. I'd rather him stay, but if he leaves for something above 30 million, maybe 40 million, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

We won by not getting ripped off my Madrid. Great players come and go. We'll replace DDG just like we replaced VDS and Schmeichel.

You are probably right, i just hope we wont go into another fase where we dont find a proper replacement in that position. Its hard to replace one of the best goal keepers in the world, but we have done it before and can do it again.

Casillas and his horror show during the last world cup should warrant De Gea the #1 spot. Unless VDB have a brain fart on his way to France

Spain hardly fielded any first team nationals yesterday. I think your theory is bogus.

Thanks for your opinion.

Wait, are you being sarcastic because I disagree with you or are you actually thanking me?

The team that was fielded was kinda young or it was players who didn't secure their position in the squad. Obviously there are exceptions such as Azpilicueta and Bellerin and D. Silva, but most of the team were just unproven players. I think De Gea has got the GK position on lock so they were just giving the other guy a run.

No i dont have an issues with opinions, I asked for peoples opinions to get a broader perspective on things. Its easy to be a prisoner of your own reasoning and others opinions can open up to other possibilties. I really hope we dont loose him and i want people to convince me that so i dont have to worry.
