I've always thought /r/politics modding was bad, but I also never believed the conspiracy theories because the modding was crazy in all directions. /r/politicaldiscussion, on the other hand, just deletes everything that talks against the status quo. A post of mine about the Wells Fargo settlement a while back got deleted. Another post about Clinton's "downballot" funding not actually going to downballot candidates was also deleted. Different mods every time.

The sub as a whole has a ridiculously pro-establishment slant, almost to the point of parody, so just plain old bias wouldn't surprise me. Regardless of reason it's pretty ridiculous.

I posted a huge comment breaking down all the reasons I would never vote for clinton, and it got shadow-removed. I had to raise hell with the mods and eventually they said "it had a link to an unauthorized site." The only link in that post was to another reddit comment in the same fucking thread.

Censored my post for 8 hours then let it through, once all the page views were dying down.

I didn't believe in widespread political conspiracy before but I do now.

/r/politicaldiscussion used to be really really good about a year ago. I'm pretty bummed about how absurdly shitty it is now.

It's because of the election, I guarantee you there is money flowing to delete and silence dissenting opinions.
