There is nothing you can do. The kid has been warned. If he does it again he'll be suspended probably. Sex offender registry is probably a little premature at this point.

[–]UsuallySunnyQuality Contributor 18

This isn't sexual harassment and isn't a sex crime. Please cool your jets and get some perspective. 13 year olds are assholes to each other. We can't put them all in jail.

School punishment is not yours to decide.

Can confirm. Was 13 and an asshole at the same time.

What exactly do you consider to be "severe punishment"?

I mean, yeah the kid should stop the behavior, but sometimes kids just act like kids. They're still learning how to behave appropriately.

[–]ExpiresAfterUseQuality Contributor 21

The school has acted and decided on the punishment. 13 year olds are 13 year olds.

Tell /u/grasshoppa1 to stop double pansting me.

NEVER!!!!

If you lived in my state your could be charged as an adult. Now think about what you've done while you sit in jail!

Huh?! What the fuck are you even talking about?

13 year olds can be charged as adults for felony charges in NC (it may be only certain charges but I know sexual assault was on the list). Go figure. Instead of raising the age we're lowering it.

Ok but pantsing someone is not sexual assault.

psssst, pretty sure he was trying to get in on the joke (wherein I implied you were a 13-year-old due to your pantsing me, and you then implicitly acquiesced by claiming "NEVER," meaning you would not stop), by sternly accosting you by claiming you would be charged as an adult, and then (ironically, due to the fact you were being charged as an adult) exclaimed that you should think about what you've done while you sit in jail, which is humorous due to the fact that it is a phrase normally reserved for children.

No I totally get it, but then he implied that it's sexual assault in his state, which I have to shit on him for. Sorry but it's just the way the rules work, yinz.

[–]ExpiresAfterUseQuality Contributor 4

The next trial should be whether or not /u/demyst is a yinz.

What can we do as a family to make sure this kid is punished severely?

There is nothing you can do to "make sure" that happens. Your parents can press the issue with the teacher and principal and see what happens. If that doesn't work to your satisfaction, move up the ladder to the school district administrators and/or school board. Getting an attorney to draft a letter for you can also help. Going to the police is also an (overreactionary) option.

Though, I also agree 100% with /u/grasshoppa1.

Out of curiosity, how older are you OP?

Oh come on. I know everyone is sensitive nowadays but weren't you ever 13?

One of my best friends at this age did this to me, whilst it's embarrassing it's not sexual harassment at all. The only thing that could increase his punishment if this is ongoing bullying, but if he reacts bad to this that is more likely to get him bullied than anything else, it's just kids.

You could start your own school where you call in cops for anyone acting like a kid.

Or you could go to Florida, where they do that for you.

[–]_My_Angry_Account_ 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

They do that in a lot more places than just Florida.

Little brother sexually harassed, need advice

Hello r/legaladvice, My 13 year old little brother was sexually harassed today at school by a fellow student. He double pantsed my brother (pulling down both his pants and underwear). The school is only giving him a warning. What can we do as a family to make sure this kid is punished severely?

You are why we can't have nice things.

Report it to the police. It's not up to you to determine the severity of the punishment. I would think at the very least, they would talk to the other boy to show him the error of his ways.

Report it to the police.

Are you serious right now?

Why not? If the police want to pursue it, they can. This way it gets documented.

Fuck bullying. I don't think it's right, neither does OP. They have the right to report an illegal action.

Wow.

LOL @ "Bullying". He got pantsed, for fuck's sake.

Who gives a shit who it is? Pantsing happens at that age. It's not a god damn sexual assault, for fuck's sake. Some of you pussies need to seriously grow a pair.

Embarrassment and awkward situations don't need to traumatize someone, despite all you people's efforts to make it.

Your post has been removed for the following reason(s):

Do not advise posters to call the media or to post on social media

    • Alerting the media to, or otherwise publicizing a potential legal situation creates additional risks and problems, and should only be done, if at all, with the counsel of a local attorney representing OP.

If you feel this was in error, message the moderators.

To the press? Over getting pantsed? Jesus christ, you're a good reason why i want trump in the white house.

Jesus Christ, I just noticed the press comment. I somehow missed it earlier. Wow.

My husband is an inner city middle school teacher, you have no idea how many idiots going running to the news every time their precious snowflake's precious little feelings are hurt. Its disgusting and the news sensationalizes everything for ratings.

I do, actually! One of my friends is the producer of one those "Problem Solvers" segments on a local news channel. Sometimes he's generous enough to give me a run down of the requests they ignored on a given week. It's terrifying.

and by the time the school or administration gives their side of the story, its too late, the whole school is a bunch of racists, but lets just totally forget the reason why your kid maybe was roughed up a little bit at school, he was fighting another student (a fight he started), this kid had been suspended 12 times for fighting and has a criminal record, but no its the schools fault this kid was treated too roughly while a teacher was trying to break up a fight (and the teacher got sucker punched in the face) - grrrrrr!

TO THE PRESS. EVERYONE: BREAKING NEWS! KID GETS PANTSED AT SCHOOL!

    [–]ExpiresAfterUseQuality Contributor 7

Holy shit. You can't be fucking serious. Please join the rest of us in the real world.

That would be such a waste of police resources

You sounds like the kind of person who likes running the HOA.

You know, kids do dumb shit. Does this really need to go to DEFCON 1?
