And I agree with what others are saying here. Dick is the man. Maddox didn't even mention him?! His co-host?! Holy shit. If he has a reasonable beef, let it be known. Otherwise, that's seriously shitty character. No explanation...if anyone else did that, he'd be freaking out, but it's Madoff and he's obviously a hypocrite.

There's a point where the "I'm so awesome, I'm the best" shtick crosses the line and you've witnessed it here big time. With that attitude, how does Madoff (btw, you's a bitch) not relate more to Trump?

Nothing has pissed me off more than piss driblets and having to shit after I shower...until what Madoff has just done. Maddox needs to be upvoted to be the Biggest Problem...although he'd remove the page or problem before that could happen, knowing him.

You know what this is like? When Oprah, with her billions of dollars, said "25 years seems like a good stopping point." No real reason given, but we have the general idea. Except they only did 2 years.

Finally, what Madoff says on the page is total bullshit! This was obviously planned. He waited until exactly the 2 year mark (104 episodes), he brought in the problem he'd been saving forever (Asteroids), and we saw the PM posted where Dick said he didn't even know if they were doing a show and that Maddox was a prick. I'm not interested in Madoff's network of shite. This leaves a gross taste in my mouth. If he'd been straightforward, ended it with dignity and respect to the fans and Dick, things might have been different. But he chose another route. Dick...you're the man. Maddox...go fuck yourself.

Good observation. I actually never got around to buying the bonus episodes, but listened to all the others, half of them more than once (I have 80-106 on my phone and always go back.)

Everyone issue credit card chargebacks on their bonus episode purchases and send the money to Dick's PayPal! lol

I don't think that is the reason, I think buying individual episodes was a test by maddox to see if people would buy episodes more based on its content. With a season pass you are less likely to see that happen since most people will likely pay for the entire season

He didn't even mention him on the episode's write up. Take a gander at this paragraph, Dick's name is noticably missing:

That's what I was referring to. Have yet to listened to the episode. He thanks people who bought him drinks, but not the guy that was more entertaining and was at the helm of the ship with him from day one. Might as well have slapped him across the face and spit on him. Or maybe shoe throwing is more insulting in Armenian culture.

That's why I'm holding out at least a little hope that this isn't real. Maddox can do some petty shit, but I don't think he would just outright erase Dick completely out of the show for the finale... If he really is doing all this sincerely like a child, I'll be shocked.

You don't think Maddox, the most egotistical man on the planet, wouldn't do this? Didn't Maddox bring in "Prank Bros"? You think this is some elaborate joke? Going absent for weeks, ending the show, excluding Dick, and writing up a whole farewell on the website...as a joke? Hold out hope if you want, but I really don't think so, dude. It seems kind of weird that Dick would say all that shit in private but keep completely silent in public. Also weird that he would say they aren't friends when they've discussed anecdotes where they're hanging out outside the show and patting each other on the back for their work.

I've seen that, and I do believe that's over, but it's just a holdout hope because I really don't want it to end like this. The biggest thing is I don't think Maddox would be that stupid to piss off a bunch of his fanbase right as another one of his products is coming out. Just seems fishy, but it probably did just blow up at the worst time with Maddox handling it very poorly.

It's not even that I dont want to listen to them without Dick, its the fact that Maddox could create an extremely popular show, cut out his other half that made the show so popular, and then act like its his show and his show only and that no one but him deserves to know what happened. Look, if something really nasty between them happened, fine, thats personal, but at least have the decency to say that much instead of not even mentioning his name once on the final episode and cutting out his speaking parts.

I'm not gonna lie, I often didn't like Dick that much throughout the show and I guess I could maybe listen to a version of the show where he was replaced as cohost (maybe not though, he still definitely a lot of what makes it great), but not if he was forcefully removed from the show like this and not even given a mention in what is supposedly the final episode. If nothing comes out to clear this shit up there's no way I'm going to start listening to some other podcast that Maddox starts up.

Well it all makes sense now.

  • Maddox asked Dick to not be there, perhaps to gauge fan reaction/see how Dick-dependent the show was;

  • Plan backfired awfully, since fans love Dick and expressed as much on comments, via tweets, and here;

  • Maddox has been butthurt/jealous about it all along, and decided to ended the show out of spite, no doubt planning to carry on podcasting, now Dickfree.

Maybe the show was just becoming too much stress for Maddox. For the last year everything has really been going against Maddox, and every episode starts with like 10 minutes of shitting on Maddox from last episode. He didn't seem to have any good way to blow off criticism like Dick, and it seemed to get to him a lot more. This sub for example was always full of people hating on him.

If it was stressing him out every week and he no longer wanted to do it, then I think he's well within his rights to end it. Although this way of ending it would still be a weird way to go about it.

I don't know, just guessing at other possible reasons.

I was thinking the same thing, and thinking about making a post. Maddox has been deleting hate comments lately, too. I think it may have just gotten to him. I know he plays the big guy but he's a human being too.

He may have been, I guess "jealous" of Dick, but that still doesn't explain the falling out.

My guess is it had less to do with the arrogant character Maddox plays on the podcast and mode about creative differences behind the scenes. If the screenshots are to be believed, Dick was angry about Maddox editing the podcasts to make himself look smarter. He was also angry about being kicked off for a week, which apparently Maddox wanted to do so he could shop around other co-hosts. Why he thinks Dick is a liability is beyond me, as I'm sure Dick has become the fan favorite.

Also, why they got in this together is beyond me. Unless they were friends to start with, and the podcast ruined that for them. Maybe they started getting a lot of money for it and then deciding what they should do with it ruined their partnership.

Whatever happened, I will support Dick Masterson as he is vastly more likeable than Maddox.
