Turkey used to be the example apologists would hold up to insist there was a "moderate" Islam we could all count on. Erdogan proceeded to shatter that illusion. Now Malaysia - the other sterling example of a "modern, moderate Islam" - is falling by the Sharia wayside.

Don't worry though....the political left will find newer and ever more creative ways to convince us all that Islam is compatible after all with modern precepts of human freedom and gender equality.
