Zlatan - hes become a specialist at bullying smaller teams.
This isn't to say he isn't good in big games but hes dominant vs smaller sides. Hopefully he can turn some of these drab draws/narrow losses like we had vs Norwich, Bournemouth and Sunderland into wins.

But seriously, I think this is the end for Mata. If we end up signing Willian and Rooney moves to midfield, then there's no room for him in the squad. Herrera is better defensively, I think Mourinho will make Schneiderlin come good again, and we will probably sign a playmaker.

I think if Mata leaves, Valencia could be a plausible destination. I know player trades don't happen anymore, but with Mourinho's reported interest in Andre Gomes and Mata's history with Valencia, I think there could be a deal there.

Martial hasn't done bad on the wings, likewise with Rashford. All will be rotated, they're still young. By the time Zlatan leaves they'll be ready

Not sure about "everyone", but I haven't wanted him in any kind of management or coaching position since he stopped playing. Despite being a "legend", there's absolutely no reason to think he is any good at managing. I mean, FFS, he'd never managed a day in his life when his name was being thrown in the ring to take over this club. And he's still shown nothing to suggest he's capable.

"He gets on well with the players and they trust him." Well that's really nice, but that doesn't mean he's ready to manage a Premier League team for 38 games against Pep, Klopp and co., or that he has the ability to lead a European campaign.

I'm just so tired of seeing his uninterested face. He offers nothing. Just leave.

Why the hell would you put legend in quotations? The man epitomizes United through and through. He HAS managed a "day in his life". Did you forget the end of Moyes' season?

I do agree he should gain a bit of experience first, hopefully at the U-21s, but damn man...no need to bad-mouth the man. Plastic.

Funny, I'm more concerned for him now because I really don't know what he's going to do. With LVG, I thought he'd be assistant. But with Mourinho I just don't know.. Will he stay and be assistant? Will he go manage somewhere else? Would he take a roll with the youth teams to coach within United? I just don't know!

I want mourinho to bring the fear factor back to the club. I want to maul the shit teams in the league, not stick 1 goal past them after 2 fucking shots on target. I want pulis to feel the need to play two goalkeepers and 10 centre backs against us to keep us out.

  • He's gonna attract pure class players, for sure. I can see the likes of Willian and James Rodriguez being available. But we need a Ramos/Vidic like character holding our defense together. The refurbished squad is beginning to gel together so a complete overhaul could disrupt the foundation. I don't expect more than 4 ins.

  • I think that will depend on how the players progress in the Euro. Fellaini seems to be the likliest. I'm seriously worried about Shaw, though. The lad has the potential to be the best LB in our history but Mou thinks he is overrated. Maybe we'll loan out a few like Januzaj and Borthwick-Jackson. Memphis can possibly improve.

  • Mata sadly, will be taken down again. Herrera can flourish and knowing Mou's love for Rooney, I seriously doubt Mata's chances. Especially if Mou intends on buying a more physical CAM. But you also have Lingard to make quick runs from right so Mata won't be having that role either.

  • 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 due to the amount of pace we've got running through the flanks. Expect Martial to be fed fully with all the crosses coming in. If we get Ibra, I expect us to play with two up front. More like a diamond formation.

  • If he sees potential, he will. But Mou barely pays any attention to the youth. But I expect him to uplift Pereira, Varela and TFM.

I think he'll try to sign: Zlatan, Griezmann, one of Stones/Greek dude, one of Kroos/Neves/Gomes

Won't sell many: One of Jones/Rojo, Mata

Play 4-3-3 in big games and 4-2-3-1 against smaller teams

He will play the youth players that were already given a chance by LVG. So likely won't see Tuanzebe or Williams this next season. They are really the only two who have yet to break into the senior squad that are ready from u21.

Griezmann looks primed to be this summer's Muller. Everyone would love to have him. Everyone will get their hopes up. But everyone will be forced to admit come August that it makes no sense for him to leave the club he's currently with (at least not right now).

Need to improve on our right winger first. Then, a centre midfield who fits Mourinho playstyle, like Matic. Then, a cb to partner Smalling. But, of course, Ibrahimovic should be included as well.

Obviously I hope he brings in Zlatan for a season or 2 to help us compete this next year. I also hope he can bring in at least one other large signing, my dream is AG. In addition resign Carrick for another year and then bring in a CB.

Formation I think depends on what our squad looks like, but it could be a 4-4-1-1.

Well I think Zlatan will be done before the Euros. Aside from him who knows, the Manolas rumors are exciting.

Don't believe that Willian rumors we'd have to pay a lot I feel.

I think Mata is safe for now we don't have better options then him right now depending on signings I can see him staying.

I think it's important to realize that we won't sign many big names this summer because of no Champions League.

I'm more excited for next summer transfers, when we'll be back to CL and hopefully with a title, a destination craved by players. This trash as happened with this Benfica dude that chose Bayern won't happen next summer.

I fervently hope he'll sign Zlatan. If he scores 30+ goals again in the PL, it'll just be an added bonus to the swagger he brings to the pitch and (hopefully) the confidence to the dressing room. The younger lads will only benefit from his experience.

I read he isn't too impressed with Smalling and Blind as a CB pairing, so a decent CB is on the cards. Who exactly, time will tell.

He may let the likes of Carrick and Rojo leave. Mata, i hope he retains, even if as an impact sub. He's a quality player and a fantastic human being, a great ambassador for the club and football in general.

I'd go with a 4-2-3-1 for the bigger games and 4-3-3 or a wide 4-4-2 diamond for the more routine ones. Would personally love to see a Zlatan/Martial pairing up front with Rashford being subbed in, in the second half, assuming Zlatan's body can't take the strain of a full-length PL match.

With the youth, he seems to be showing signs of relenting a little if he thinks they have what it takes (Zouma at Chelsea is the most recent example that comes to mind). That said, hope Pereira, TFM, CBJ and Varela get decent runs out, especially in Cup ties, with Shaw firmly in the first-team picture.

Lastly, imho it would be best to allow Januzaj and Memphis to leave for loans at clubs wherein they would get a lot of playing time, they're flair players and they need that confidence of having carried a team/been indispensable to a squad to get their mojo back.

Here's hoping Mou's track record remains...well, on track.

I think Mourinho will bring that fear factor back to United. With Fergie teams would be scared to come to Old Trafford, under Moyes and Van Gaal I feel teams did not see us as much of a threat. As for signings, you can be almost certain he is going to bring in someone from one of his previous clubs. I would not be surprised if he brings in Varane, Azpelicueta or even Willian. With Chelsea, Mourinho did not have a lot of restrictions on how he could play, so he chose to play a more tactical defensive game parking the bus so to speak). However I feel with United he has to play more entertaining and attractive football, he needs the creativity of Mata and will probably keep him for a few seasons.

I think Mou has proved that he can win titles.What he wants to prove with us is that he can also build dynasties. He has huge admiration for SAF and he wants to try to replicate what SAF has achieved in terms of longevity. He believes that filling SAF's shoes at MU could be his greatest achievement as manager.

He can revive underperforming players like Darmian and Memphis and he will continue to develop our youth.Rashford,TMF and Mcnair can become great players under him. Darmian is a Mou type of full back and he will have a great career under him. Basti will have a great season as well.

I don't think that he wants to make a tone of transfers.Zlatan, a CB like Manolas,a RW and a DM for the first window.A great DM is always fundamental on Mou's teams and I can see him spend big for a DM.

I think we'll see a different Mourinho. He'll play the youth, he'll develop our squad as opposed to buying a bunch of class, quality players and spending a ton of money. We'll play exciting football. I do not think he will sell Mata. He may not use him every game, but he'll keep him around. He's a fan favourite, that has to account for something.

I think he'll sign Zlatan, Manolas and possibly William, that would reinforce our much need areas (ST, CB and RW). I don't see him selling that many players on his first year, he might get rid of Januzaj, Rojo and/or James Wilson. I think he'll play a 4-2-3-1 like he did at Chelsea

I think we need to sign a top centre back. For me, Rojo hasn't been good enough. I can see Blind staying but playing in a more advanced position or as backup for Shaw at full back.

I reckon he'll set us up like this with Rooney as a 10 and Herrera as an 8.

i don't want to sound romantic but there is something different bout Mourinho's demeanor. and there is a different sense of excitement and expectancy. i think we have player like Memphis, pereira and rashford who are going to absolutely thrive under a brilliant people person like mourinho but time will tell.
