He loves Rooney lol, he wanted to sign him for Real Madrid in 2011 and tried again at Chelsea in 2013. Obviously Rooney was a more dynamic and powerful player back then..

He is still very effective imo, He was fantastic under Moyes and went hot and cold once LVG took over(like every other player bar De Gea). So I think Rooney at no10, with two dynamic midfield runners and pacey wingers around him would be great.

Rooney will 100% be his no10 if he plays 4-2-3-1 or his most forward midfielder in a 4-3-3.

Except Falcao, who was always cold.

Rooney will definitely have a place in Mourinho's team. The question is whether he will be a number 10 in the vein of Oscar/Sneijder or more of a number 8 like Modric/Fabregas. There have been rumours of signing James Rodriguez from Real Madrid. Personally I don't see him a a Mourinho player and reckon he would be another Di Maria waiting to happen.

If we're only talking about players from our current squad, Herrera can fit the role too.

Herrera does not yet have the quality to be a starter if we want to be challenging for the league. He is a viable backup I guess, but Iam still undecided on him

Herrera has the engine but is suspect defensively. He's not too old though and set in his ways that Mou can mold him to his liking. I think Lindgard actually fits the description better of tracking back and getting into the box, even though he's nowhere near as skilled. One of the reasons mata was found wanting was his tracking back and defensive side of the game, he was just to weak for his liking eventhough I felt Oscar was even weaker but at least was more tactically astute to Mourinho's philosophy

Herrera too, no?

I hope Rooney plays there but I could see us going after Pjanic. Very much fits that description.

God I would love Pjanic. Doubt Roma would let him go though :/

Doubt Roma would let him go though

not true at all. god knows why but they're offering nainggolan and pjanic to a lot of top teams atm. and even if they weren't it's a pretty shit mentality to have that we wouldn't be able to get him anyways. we're united ffs.

They need to make 40 million in order to comply with UEFA FFP or risk missing out on champions league football next season

Rooney still has glimpses of class, but is he the #10 to rely on when challenging for titles?

[–]hardgour 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

With quality midfielders behind him and speedy attackers ahead he will be class at the number 10. In LVGs system he had to lead the line and track back, keep possession. In Jose's team he will be pushing tempo and going forward, spraying passes and taking shots. Like a Cesc but with world class talent

Rooney will be a class #10 for Jose.
