He loves Rooney lol, he wanted to sign him for Real Madrid in 2011 and tried again at Chelsea in 2013. Obviously Rooney was a more dynamic and powerful player back then..

He is still very effective imo, He was fantastic under Moyes and went hot and cold once LVG took over(like every other player bar De Gea). So I think Rooney at no10, with two dynamic midfield runners and pacey wingers around him would be great.

Rooney will 100% be his no10 if he plays 4-2-3-1 or his most forward midfielder in a 4-3-3.

Rooney will definitely have a place in Mourinho's team. The question is whether he will be a number 10 in the vein of Oscar/Sneijder or more of a number 8 like Modric/Fabregas. There have been rumours of signing James Rodriguez from Real Madrid. Personally I don't see him a a Mourinho player and reckon he would be another Di Maria waiting to happen.

If we're only talking about players from our current squad, Herrera can fit the role too.

Herrera does not yet have the quality to be a starter if we want to be challenging for the league. He is a viable backup I guess, but Iam still undecided on him

I'm not particularly sure who, but maybe Koke could be like that? (Not saying they'd let him go though)
