I heard it's because the graphic cards they both use have a cheaper better alternative, so it makes sense to upgrade them. I don't know anything about AMD or graphic cards and I heard it on reddit so take it with a grain of salt. As long as my games still run fine I'm not that bothered, if i'm forced to upgrade then I'll be pissed

There is no way they are going to be able to hit native 4k without seriously downgrading the graphics.

4k support will be there mostly for blu-ray and netflix. Just like 1080p on PS3.

I don't like it.

If they move all the xbox software and exclusives to PC, it ruins the xbox console experience. Only those in countries with cheap PC prices can benefit from this, the whole xbox console population would die. Its basically those who can afford it benefit greatly while those who can't get a half lifespan of a console

I'm still reserving judgement on it until more info is given, but if PS4 is doing it to help the PSVR, they must think their customers are made of money. I'd love to get one if it can give me a better framerate for Witcher so I can enjoy the game, because the framerate gets awful at times, especially when the Quen shield breaks during fights.

All ps4/xbone versions will run all games, the improved versions just get good graphics and hopefully 60fps

The big problem is that consoles traditionally output to TVs, which come in 1080p to 4k, with nothing in between. This means that consoles will have to cross a huge gap in terms of power unless 1440p televisions are made.

It's pretty stupid to me.

I don't like the idea of people having greater advantages due to better hardware. This is exactly why I prefer consoles, everyone is pretty much on the same playing field.
