Recently Minecraft creator/Billionaire Markus Persson or "Notch" as he's called on the internet has made several tweets that seem to be inflammatory just for the sake of being inflammatory. Most of these have either been making fun of feminists (fat SJW with purple hair type comments). And hating on consoles (in one tweet literally stating that he put Minecraft on consoles because "so he could get more money"). Because Reddit hates both feminism and people playing their videogames on a different platform than they do. These Tweets have been fairly popular on this website. One such thread (from the pc mustardrace) made it to the top of the front page. And that's what I'm going to look at here (partly because it made it to the top of Reddit, partly because I won't miss any opportunity to make fun of the PCMR community).

From the start we have this post celebrating a man openly saying he did something just for money (when if someone at EA or Ubisoft said that, they'd be crucified at that community). The phrase: "one of us" is also kind of culty with that said, let's look at some comments:

That gets me to the last bit of this post (mostly because half of the comments in that thread are just something along the lines of "savage", "rekt" and "roasted" and there's not much to comment on there). And that's that these people seem to idolize the idea of just not working and spending all of your time shitposting everywhere. And while that might be fun for a few days. My guess is that 90% of people after a month of just shitposting would get at least a bit depressed. People have a physiological need to socially interact with real people and to feel like they're working on something. Full unemployment is generally considered mentally unhealthy if done for too long* (if you're unemployed, try working on something on the side like a blog). And what do you know, Notch has reported that he's dealing with depression. I think the fact that the online "gamer" community uses a person who is having problems with depression and what he should do in his life. And has just resorted to Twitter shitposting for the time being as an idol because they have the money to shitpost for the rest of their life if they wanted says a lot more about the online gaming communtiy than it does about Notch.
