Youth or experience? (self.reddevils)

It's become increasingly obvious that we need to sign a striker for next season to bang in some goals for us. The question is, do we continue to buy young, promising players to fill the role, or do we go after more experienced heads?

Experienced strikers we should attempt tosign: Gonzalo Higuain, Zlatan, Kane, Dybala.

Youth strikers to consider: Cauley Woodrow, Zakaria Bakkali, Jürgen Locadia.

Disclaimer: it is understood that not all of these players would be available at a reasonable price. So, the top three for me would have to be Zlatan and Higuain for experience, absolute, and being able to realistically sign them. Woodrow is going to be a quality striker, and we could get him for cheaper than the rest.

Hard to not put him in the experienced section when he's played 80+ matches for Tottenham at the senior level.

Having Zlatan for a year will be great for our other young attacking (and defending!) players.

I don’t want two new strikers this window. But one experienced one is ideal, I think.

Dybala is good but not sure I'd call him experienced.

When I say experienced strikers it means players who have played a full season at the top flight of a top five league (Italy, Germany, England, Spain, France).

Why would you not want those youth players? Woodrow has been impressive for the English youth teams and Fulham, and the other two have both been very impressive in the Eridivisie, which is well-known to produce talent on a regular basis.

You don't watch much of Bakkali then because he's at Valencia now after spending a year in PSV reverses due to his attitude,hes been poor in Spain too.

We have a good enough batch of English forwards without paying stupid money to get more.

Locadia has been good but hardly anything special.

One year in a top league isn't enough to be considered experienced imo.

That's why I listed both of these strikers in youth, not experienced. And yes, I've watched Bakkali play while he was at PSV, and a few times in La Liga. He is a promising young talent. As far as the attitude issues go, there's been plenty of players who have been labeled with that stigma that have worked out for the best.

Also, stupid money? We wouldn't have to pay stupid money to get Woodrow, nor would we have to for either of the other young players I listed.

I've watched Woodrow for the youth teams and Fulham and I don't rate him at all. Would take Rashford and Wilson over him any day.

By all means Bakkali is a massive cunt and bar scoring a hat-trick once he has done just about nothing in his career. He is also a winger.

Don't know much about Locadia but transfermarkts says he plays mainly as a winger and is older than Memphis and has a worse scoring record than Memphis for PSV.
