Youth or experience? (self.reddevils)

It's become increasingly obvious that we need to sign a striker for next season to bang in some goals for us. The question is, do we continue to buy young, promising players to fill the role, or do we go after more experienced heads?

Experienced strikers we should attempt tosign: Gonzalo Higuain, Zlatan, Kane, Dybala.

Youth strikers to consider: Cauley Woodrow, Zakaria Bakkali, Jürgen Locadia.

Disclaimer: it is understood that not all of these players would be available at a reasonable price. So, the top three for me would have to be Zlatan and Higuain for experience, absolute, and being able to realistically sign them. Woodrow is going to be a quality striker, and we could get him for cheaper than the rest.

I don't want to bring in to many, in hopes to not hinder his development. But, do you think he can handle a full work load to help us finish top four again? Because I don't. He needs help.

he needed help this year, he'll need help next year. Great debut season but our lack of depth really hurt us up top...especially now that is seems Rooney is looking to take a deeper role.

That's what I'm trying to say here. He's undoubtedly going to be a solid first team player, but he can't shoulder the workload on his own. Everyone keeps acting like he's already a star, but making him do it on his own is only going to hinder his development as a player.

Having Zlatan for a year will be great for our other young attacking (and defending!) players.

I don’t want two new strikers this window. But one experienced one is ideal, I think.

I wouldn't want any of those youth strikers.

Dybala is good but not sure I'd call him experienced.

When I say experienced strikers it means players who have played a full season at the top flight of a top five league (Italy, Germany, England, Spain, France).

Why would you not want those youth players? Woodrow has been impressive for the English youth teams and Fulham, and the other two have both been very impressive in the Eridivisie, which is well-known to produce talent on a regular basis.
