We can dream. There is official concept art for it out there. As I recall they shelved/trashed the project because with the direction graphics were going, it just didn't have the same "feel" as the original Jak... and they wanted to focus on their newer IP rather than old.

I'm hoping for a new IP that has a completely different aesthetic. I want something like Crash Bandicoot or the Jak series - cartoony and not hyper realistic. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy games like the Last of Us and Uncharted... but there's something endearing about a less realistic game.

naughty dog has already said that they want to stay away from "childish" games. they wanna make serious and realistic story-telling games from now on.

I for one actually hope it will be a sequel for TLOU. It had a perfect ending, Joel got his redemption. But it would be very interesting to see Joel confess his lie to a grown up Ellie, after which she would set off on her own to find remaining fireflies, maybe in order to find redemption her self. This would also open the gates for new characters, maybe a love interest. Many possibilites in a universe as interesting as TLOU's. I would love to go back there.

As for a prequel, we know Joel has been up to some shady shit ("I've been on both sides" - after arriving in Pittsburg). Just my thoughts on this.

For some reason I don't think you would play as Joel in a TLOU sequel. Could be a new group of people or maybe you play as a grown up Ellie.

Although I'm perfectly happy with how TLOU ended, and I'd never say it needs a sequel, I can see one happening. Maybe it's a quest to find someone that can create a cure without killing Ellie. Maybe they find others that are like her, infected but not. Maybe it's completely different characters in the universe (these don't even have to be mutually exclusive ideas).

I'm just saying I think there is a possibility to not screw it up. Naughty Dog is a solid developer and I'd trust that if they are doing a sequel, they'd only do it if they had a solid plan and not as a cash grab. Maybe that's naive of me, but, either way I'd vastly prefer another game than a movie adaptation that seems to maybe be happening.

There actually is a dlc where you play as Eli before she meets Joel, back in Boston with her friend. It's called left behind

It's Intro and Ending were absolutely phenomenal. It's a perfect example of how much of a masterpiece a story-based game can be and how deep and emotional it can get. I don't want to see a sequel possibly infringe on the original's good name by coming disappoint or being a serious let down from its predecessor, but I doubt they'd really fail based on their current standards for their games. I just don't want to see one of my favorite games of all time's good name be ruined by a disappointing sequel that did not live up to its original glory and perfection.

With Naughty Dogs track record, I think they would be fine to do a LoU2 and pull it off. Take the recent UC4 for example. 4th game in the series and arguably the best one

Agreed. Though the best solution to a "sequel" might be a completely different/new story set in the same world. No Joel or Ellie. Because their story right now doesn't need anything more.

If it is TLOU2, I hope it follows some new characters in that world. I feel like Joel's story comes to a perfect end with the choice he makes at the end of the first game and adding anything onto it would just take away from that.

and make it a non-racing game too. Although, I wonder where they could continue the story from. Last I recall, they ended the series (not including spin offs or racing game) with Jak finding out who the precursors were, hooking up with hot babe, watching father die, and then thats about it. Maybe Jak goes some where else to find a way to cure himself of the dark and light powers o.O?

Right now they basically only have one title, TLOU, seeing as how UC ended.

One of the best companies making games at the moment; them and CDProjekt seem to muster so much faith from the community, it's well earned aswell.

I really would love to see some ND games on PC, but for obvious reasons that won't happen.

It's 2016 and some people still want ND to go back to making Jak or even Crash Bandicoot games. What the hell is wrong with you guys?

ND's talent would be insanely wasted on doing a cartoony platformer nowadays, there are enough studios out there that can make these as well, if not better than ND anyway. Let one of them do a Crash or Jak reboot, if you must. ND's strength lies in their cinematic storytelling and that strength would be completely useless for a new Crash or Jak and Daxter game.

And don't give me any of that "imagine a Crash/Jak with the same cinematic storytelling that ND is known for today"-bullshit, that's not remotely what you're looking for in Crash/Jak and you know it.
