Scientific studies can never truly prove causation, only correlation. Technically speaking, smoking cigarettes and cancer haven't been shown to be causal, only (very, VERY) highly correlative. With all these studies finding a correlation....it makes you think, eh?

That being said, I have been PMed some contradicting studies, so I will bow out for now and reformulate my thoughts. I've been abused by a man who was high off porn, so I've always held a grudge against porn. But maybe my abuse is blinding me from the truth.

There's strong scientific evidence showing that those who consume porn have more negative perceptions of women. Sounds like abolishing porn would do a lot to weaken sexism!

Eugenics did not stand the test of time. However, the case for anti-porn still stands strong. Keep in mind, when you defend pornography, you are siding with the liberals and the libertarians. You cannot abolish sexism without abolishing porn.

I am not a TWERF. I support the struggles of trans people. They are the gender they identify as and society has wronged them greatly. Porn harms trans people as well. Trans people will not achieve liberation until porn is annihilated.

As I said, anti-porn feminism has made alliances with transphobes and that's pretty fucked up. I am working to shift the anti-porn movement away from that. Porn defenders will one day have to quit hiding behind the very valid critique of anti-porn feminism having transphobic connections and admit that porn is a significant factor in the rape of woman.
