I think the game is polished, clean, and works really, really well. 21 Heroes, that all interact wonderfully together and cross-ability interactions make it even better.

Add all that together with the fact that I can play 2 games in 20 minutes or so, and it's a game I can play whenever I'd like in short bursts. The fact that it's so much fun means I'll probably play it over CSGO for the foreseeable future. Especially after competitive.

The beta proved its a great game, but I really feel I saw all there was to see.

price drop is still up. showing $48.99 and $47.99 for prime members.

prime gets a 20% discount on preorders and new games. the 20% is not calculating. i, and many others, had it adjusted through chat.

some have not been as lucky. was super simple for me, under 2 minutes. open the chat before placing the order.

    $40 but that's a fair point. Personally I think the polish and the free future maps and heroes make it worth it compared to other games which will sell the bare minimum and then ask for DLC money like destiny.

        I just think it's a slap in the face (albeit, maybe unintentionally) that there isn't a $40 version for consoles. Beyond silly that if anyone wants to play it on consoles they have to pay an extra $20 for a few skins when PC players can get it for $40.

        All that said, I honestly feel the game would be fairly priced at $20. It's a fun game, don't get me wrong, but there isn't much bang for your buck, in my humble opinion.

        This has been my feeling on the game since the beta. I want more. Good thing they're promising more modes, more characters, and all that. Honestly, what would sell me on it, is some sort of story missions. Even if it's a $20 expansion to make it a full $60 game, I'd love a campaign, or individual story missions in this world. Building up the characters and the world and giving it a PvP only game is a disservice.

        Even if you never replayed them, the missions in Destiny probably gave 10-12 hours gameplay as I remember them, which is about the same as many single player only games. Crucible was solid at launch as well. You would have a hard time honestly justifying that 'worst $80' claim, especially if you enjoyed the core gameplay. Might not be the best, but certainly very very far from the worst.

        I spent $280 ($150 for the Ghost Edition, $90 for the digital deluxe on X1, $40 for Taken King)

        I did get 225 hours out of it (my clanmates each put ~1000 in it, more than maybe the top 5 games I've ever played combined) and I don't see myself coming back unless Bungie gets their shit together for Destiny 2.

          Game modes it does have arent very inspired either. Id rate it like Titanfall release. That game got a tonne of updates and content post release and Id rate it a 10/10 online experience now. Hopefully Overwatch adds just as much in coming months. It has a solid foundation, though the tick rate is brutal.

          This is precisely why I'm not buying it day 1. Absolutely loved the beta, played it the entire weekend with my best friends and we all loved it and are hyped for it yet none of us can justify the price. Towards the end of my time with the beta I was already beginning to lust for more content. More characters, maps and most importantly, more modes. Capture the flag is the most glaring missing mode.

          It just doesn't feel like a £40/$60 game to me (PS4). I'd consider it at a maximum price of £20/$40 as that's what I feel it's worth. It feels like a PSN game rather than a disc game. Hopefully once more content is added there might be a discount or sale at some point.

          There is no $40 version for consoles. You are forced to pay the extra $20 for the Origins Edition. The only difference between the two editions is that you get a few extra skins. It's ridiculous.

          Game is polished and for what it does, it does very well. Characters have checks and balances so nobody is to overpowered and the mechanics are very smooth. Very fun arena based game.

          I know people were not the happiest about pricing, but the way I have always thought about it is, its a game + season pass. There is no other dlc needed and everyone will always be on the same playing field.

          Bastion has a couple weaknesses, but still feels a little overpowered. During the beta I was getting smashed by tracer though. She'd dash in, plant a mine, and then reverse the hell out of there. Worked every time on me.

          It feels like a full game. You have 21 distinct hero's and a variety of well made maps. Having a great core game now that they can build upon and add over time to add onto the experience (Blizzard has always been great supporting their titles) as new fresh ideas come into play.

            I've said similar things and believe that if some other dev made this exact game and included microtransactions(even for cosmetic items only) when you already had to buy it, that dev would be getting quite a bit of shit for it. And that's coming from a guy that plays Blizz games consistenly and buys every new release from them. Sorta sad how strong their cult-like following is, almost unfair to other devs.

            It's a PvP only game. Yes there are bot matches I guess, but I've seen people complain their little hearts out for a game not including a campaign or more modes.

            Hell, I don't want to bring up Battlefront, but they came out of the box with 9 game modes, the game wasn't as well made or as fun to play, but there were a hell of a lot more modes. That game got panned.

            My beef with overwatch is they've been feeding us this background through their shorts, all this story that has such untapped potential. Look what we get, a PvP game with no story elements whatsoever. When they add a story mode, or some sort of story mission type stuff, I will be satisfied, but at the moment it feels a little hollow.

            Perhaps, but their track record clearly demonstrates that more content is coming, whereas with basically any other developer you would have to be at least a bit skeptical. It's clear they put the emphasis on polish, balance, and detail rather than broadening the scope of the content. Considering how many games are released in unfinished states nowadays that is both easier said than done and extremely rare.

              Enjoyed the beta but 10/10 is a bit crazy, sure the gameplay and characters are top notch but the content is mostly the same in the current full build from what i've seen. I'm sure that by the end of the year it'll be the best FPS on the current gen consoles though, it's so damn fun to play.

                    Uncharted 4 is an amazing single player game that flows from cinematic video to gameplay flawlessly with no visible in game loading at all, it is a modern marvel. And while it can stand alone easily, most of the impact of the game comes from playing the first 3 games. Yes it is a 4 in a series but it is also the final game.

                    Anyways I just think you can respect a game and its success even if you aren't into the game. I know I respect Counter Strike even though I'd rather Play Call of Duty.

                    I think this is what people are missing. Instead of comparing apples to oranges (Overwatch to Uncharted for example) this does extremely well in its unique genre of class based shooters.                     Where are you getting hundreds of hours of entertainment from? You play the game for a few hours and you've seen every game mode they have to offer (of which there are only 2 and 1/2), every map (which are all somewhat similar), and there is no single player or story element to get you into the world of the game.

                    There are free to play games with more content than Overwatch has.

                    Initially I didn't like Overwatch during the beta. I played more matches and ended up pre-ordering the game. I wouldn't say it's a 10, in my opinion it's a 8.8. But either way I'm having a lot of fun and it's a nice change of pace from other shooters on the gaming market. I wish all maps were playable ok all game modes

                    I wish there were some more game modes and a single player mode though. I'm hoping the community and lobbies stay alive and not die off like Evolve/Titan Fall. Overwatch has a lot of potential. I just have to get use to the slow movement speed of the game which is annoying sometimes, Doom doesn't have a sprint button but the game moves soo much faster(I understand why they did it but still). I'm excited to see the future of Overwatch and any potential DLC.

                    I dig the game. Not SUPER into competitive FPS games, but when I am, I go for the pure, but varied style. This scratches that TF2 itch.

                    10/10 though? Nah. 9/10? Sure... assuming periodic balance checks occur.

                    Edit: 10/10 if it had cross-play with XOne. Not PC, though... Unless Sony would allow M+KB and matchmaking filters.

                    Uh, when have PS4 games ever had CD keys? You don't have to worry about that on consoles. On PC though, yeah. You wouldn't be able to buy it used.

                    10/10 is absurd. I love the game but with no ranked mode to matchmake you with people who aren't just randomly playing characters and doing nothing its more of a 7/10 right now.

                    Most competitive games anyways patch in ranked mode later in its cycle.

                    I find it hard to believe many pvp/online/multiplayer (whatever you personally want to call it) are a 10/10. There just leaves too much to be desired IMO without a single player campaign or anything to do besides multiplayer FPS games. Even when they're done really well it just always leaves this feeling of monotony and a wonder that if developers can make such great multiplayer why not have a little more meat for your buck? 10s are given out too frequently these days for me to ever really take them to heart but a 10/10 for a FPS multiplayer game (however cool and fun it looks) just strikes me as a bad reviewer.

                    A game does not need Single Player to be 10/10 just like one doesn't need a Multiplayer to be 10/10. If the focus of the game is Multiplayer it just needs to nail it. Not shoehorn in a Single Player for people who want one. If you want a Single Player then this isn't the game for you. It doesn't make the game better/worse as the game is Multiplayer. Marking it down for not having a Single Player would be the sign of a bad reviewer.

                    People are saying this game doesn't deserve a 10/10 despite the fact that it is well polish and fun and that bewilders me. Now I haven't even played this game so I cannot rate this game myself but it seems a game isn't worthy of getting a perfect score unless it brings innovation. Isn't that sentiment unfair? If there are no obvious flaws that detriments the overall gameplay and is consistently fun, why doesn't it deserve a 10/10.

                    I would say lack of content is a pretty obvious flaw. I definitely think the game is fun, fun =/= high score because fun is subjective. A review is an opinion and while a reviewer has every right to give a game they enjoyed a lot a 10/10, but also I think it is fair for people to question that score and ask about potential flaws in the game and whether the reviewer factored these in.

                    This game could get 11/10 and I'm still not gonna play it. Just not my cup of tea and definitely not at that price. Plus I like progression in my games.
