"All muslims are extreme, and immigration bring it to us."

First of all, the extreme interpretation of Sharia is exactly what they flee from.

You cannot be a muslim and not support Sharia. Sharia is the cornerstone of Islam. The problem is merely that the interpretation is different. Sharia is not what the West thinks it is. Sharia deals with many topics, including crime, politics, marriage contracts, trade regulations, religious prescriptions, and economics, as well as personal matters such as sexual intercourse, hygiene, diet, prayer, everyday etiquette and fasting.

Most muslims supports Sharia, but not certain parts of it. If you actually read the Sharia, you will find that much of it actually makes sense. Of all of the Muslims I know, no one of thinks that homosexuals should be stoned. When asking them, they simple laugh and say "of course I don't".

The extreme statements in the Qur'an are no different from those in the bible.

Now, let's dig down in the bible:

1. "In sorrow thou shalt bring forth children. ... Thy husband ... shall rule over thee." God punishes Eve, and all women after her, with the pains of childbirth and subjection to men. 3:16

2. Lamech is the first of a long line of biblical men with more than one wife. It seems that God approves of such marriages. 4:19, 23

3. "The male and his female ..."

   Notice that in the Bible female animals are the property of male animals, as women are the property of men. 7:2

4. Lot refuses to give up his angels to the perverted mob, offering his two "virgin daughters" instead. He tells the bunch of angel rapers to "do unto them [his daughters] as is good in your eyes." This is the same man that is called "just" and "righteous" in 2 Pet.2:7-8. 19:8

5. Lot and his daughters camp out in a cave for a while. The daughters get their "just and righteous" father drunk, and have sexual intercourse with him, and each conceives and bears a son (wouldn't you know it!). Just another wholesome family values Bible story. 19:30-38

6. Abraham had several concubines. 25:6

7. Esau "takes" two wives. 26:34 Esau, who already had two wives (26:34), "takes" another. 28:9

8. Jacob has two wives and two concubines, continuing the biblical tradition of polygamy. 32:22

9. "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, ... nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's." In the Bible, women are the property of men; they are his possessions -- like an ox or an ass. 20:17

10. God's instructions for taking a second wife. 21:10

11. "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." Thousands of innocent women have suffered excruciating deaths because of this verse. 22:18

12. God's law for menstruating women They are unclean and sinful. Anything that they touch is unclean. Anyone who touches anything that they touch is unclean. Stay completely away from them. (And for God's sake, don't even think about having sex with them!) 15:19-30, 33

13. If a man has sex with an engaged slave woman, scourge the woman, but don't punish the man. (Even if he raped her?) 19:20-22

14. God defines the value of human life in dollars and cents. Of course, to God, females are worth considerably less than males (50 - 60%) -- but neither are worth much. 27:3-7

15. If a betrothed virgin is raped in the city and doesn't cry out loud enough, then "the men of the city shall stone her to death." 22:23-24

All this demonstrates is that what is written in religious texts can coexists with a rational society. A lot of Europeans and Americans are Christian, but only a very small percentage of them believe in the quotes above. The deal is the same for muslims:

Let's look at a recent study done in Germany:

• 93% agreement with the sentence "One should be open towards all religions" by highly religious Sunni Muslims

• 85% say that every religion is founded on a true core.

• 90% of muslims have regular contacts to non-muslims in their free time

• 60% have more contact to non-Muslim people than Muslim people in their free time

• only 8% have a purely muslim network of people with whom they interact in their free time

• 60% thinks that homosexuality is justifiable.

Get out and speak to some muslims. They're not as bad as you think.
