Who gets the spots? Will we use just 1 up top? Will Mata play? Will Rashford continue up top? Will Memphis and Martial fit into the same team? Will Lingard, Perreira, and Januzaj get a chance?

Made this just for fun since we obviously don't know who Mou plans on signing for sure. Decided to go with a 4-2-3-1 (?) that he used at Chelsea and just put in some of the guys that we have been rumored with.

Interesting. I definitely think Rooney will play in midfield but I tend to think he'll be more box-to-box than #10. I think we'll bring in a new 10, or maybe Mata will get revitalized under Mou. He's the only viable option for that position within the current team though (and even that's debated on this sub).

Otherwise, I'd definitely list Blind in the #6 role, CDM. I want to see Schneiderlin succeed there and be an enforcer, but Blind's passing is much better, and he's learned a lot about defense this season.

I think Mane would be good on the RW, but I can't see Mou buying him. Not high enough profile. I could definitely be wrong though.

Lastly, as cool as it'd be to see Zlatan, I really hope Rashford gets more of a role than a back-up next season. We are in the Europa League, so there will be plenty of rotation, I guess...

Playing off the cuff of a target man who was good with the ball at his feet ahem Zlatan ahem was the main tactic that was employed for Memphis last season at PSV. I don't see Luuk de Jong being better that a certain Swede in this regard.

Could just be wistful thinking, but signing Zlatan would aide in Anthony and Marcus' development as well as give Memphis the platform to show what he's actually capable of.

Very true. I was just thinking about him taking Rashford's best position. Rashford and him or Martial and him might make a really good front 2... with Memphis and a RW, that could be really good.

There is no way on earth we won't sign an attacking player.

What is the point in discussing who we'll play without signings when we'll definitely make signings?

Every club Jose had gone to he's replaced at least half of the first XI within two summer Windows, he always buys a lot of new talent and makes the squad his own

I have to agree, but still thought it would be worth discussing, even if 1 or 2 players come in, the role our current players will have moving forward.

I'm interested in hearing what others think about Rashford, Memphis, Martial, Lingard, Mata, etc. playing, and possibly playing next to the likes of Zlatan, James, Greizmann, etc.

----------Rashford----------

Martial--------------------Memphis

----------Rooney----------

That front three would be terrifying, particularly on the counter attack.

I'm not sure. Memphis cuts in on his right foot - he isn't a right winger.

Fully agree but the only other solution is to rotate the front 3 clockwise one step. ie AM up top, MR right wing, MD left wing.

In fact I could see this three rotating positions constantly for this whole reason.

Perreira, Januzaj nope. Lingard i think so but as some backup. Martial for sure, Mata nope, way too slow and weak.
