Mendes is the richest football agent in the world. He's insanely rich. Ronaldo (his best client and also his best friend) bought him a small island in Greece on his wedding day last year.

He's an agent for a lot of huge names in football (Ronaldo, Mourinho, Di Maria, Diego Costa being a few) who has a lot of pull/influence of where players go and which players go where (*whose client contracts apparently are worth 1 billion).

Mendes' clients contracts, i.e the total sum of all transfer fees to date such as Ronaldo to Madrid, Di Maria to United, etc. are worth nearly $1billion in total, not his total net worth.

"Clients contracts" as in, the total value of his clients contracts when combined into one total sum is likely to be worth close to 1 billion dollars. I have no idea if its true but it doesn't seem beyond the realms of possibility.

I agree that the sum total of the deals Mendes handled throughout his career as an agent might add up to a billion if not more.

I believe Mendes backstory was that he owned a few nightclubs and connected with footballers through that.
