I find it interesting that most people I've met who have immigrated to the United States legally become Republicans or take on Conservative values. I wonder if anyone else has encountered the same?

White Europeans and Cubans, absolutely. Guatemalans? Don't make me laugh.

You know, I just read polling that showed about 64% of Americans were in favor of Elian Gonzalez returning to Cuba to be with his father. Pretty creepy.

A bit overkill, but I am sick of refugees that don't go through proper protocol

Under US law if a Cuban makes it to US soil they are legal.

specifically known as "Wet foot dry foot policy" If the Cubans are found in the ocean they are taken back but if they make it land they can stay.

Every appeal I've heard from Mexicans to open our borders and/or legalize more illegal aliens involves guilt-shaming and blaming Americans for their problems. The last discussion I had about this the gentleman claimed that illegal immigrants are a boom to the economy and I asked him if that were true why aren't both the US and Mexican borders both wide open with no checkpoints or fences and he didn't have a response.
