Real Madrid reject Man United bid for Varane

Waiting for official confirmation of Louis van Gaal’s sacking, it’s been a crazy day for supporters of Manchester United.

Dutch newspaper Telegraaf reported that a deal had been agreed for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport are now reporting that a £29m (€38m) bid for Raphael Varane has been rejected.

The highly rated centre half has found himself behind Sergio Ramos and Pepe in the Real Madrid pecking order this season and could be tempted to reunite with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

Madrid based newspaper AS reported on the CdS transfer story, suggesting new Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will have a whopping €260m to spend this summer.

Jose Mourinho to sign Varane again?

The 23-year-old Raphael Varane was signed by Jose Mourinho from Lens in 2011 but has failed to fully break into the first team despite a host of world class performances.

Manchester United will certainly be looking to strengthen their defence this summer but will have to up their bid if they hope to acquire the supremely talented Frenchman.

It was yesterday confirmed that Varane would miss the Champions League final through injury and is a doubt for this summer’s Euros in France.
