Europe doesn't have 'forests'. It has Parks. All trees the same size, neatly spaced.

That forest floor it cleaner than my living room carpet.

It's the same in the Schwarzwald. There was a 'waldmeister' responsible for picking up and cleaning out any fallen branches.

I like a proper chaotic natural forest, like in the Sierraswith seedlings, thousand-year-old giants, ferns, and fallen trees, right where they fell.
