That kid in the striped shirt? Me IRL.

Good. Cause fuck that kid in the red that pushed in front of the smaller kid in the striped shirt.

[–]I_RARELY_RAPE_PEOPLE 93ポイント94ポイント  (22子コメント)

And tried to eat more than others

Yea fuck that starving child for not having a civilized and adult sense of self control.

[–]I_RARELY_RAPE_PEOPLE 41ポイント42ポイント  (18子コメント)

I'm not saying I'm judging a child harshly for his actions in that situation, but I'm allowed to critisize slightly when he pushes past a smaller kid and after seeing multiple before him take what they were given, tries to grab and eat more.

Honestly, I think he just had a hard time biting his piece off. If you look, he tries to get a better angle on it and at the end has to basically rip it off moving his head side to side. I think there's a good chance this kid is just missing his front teeth. (Hopefully just because he's a kid, not because he's a starving child in a war torn hellscape)

Are you really though. Think about what those kids have seen and experienced. Now think about your own life for a second.

Well, taking what you asked literally, the obvious answer is that nothing stopped him from doing so.

but I'm allowed to critisize

Gosh, reddit is so fucking annoying sometimes with their pointless analyses on every post.

It isn't much to expect a child of that age to act that way.

You made me laugh even though I'm super depressed after this. I want to adopt all those kids.

He's a starving desperate child, why are people so angry about someone who probably didn't notice anything other than food, he might not have eaten for a day, probably not had a proper meal for a month. He might not have noticed the other child, who got the bread anyway.

So have the other kids most likely.

Of course, but we don't know if he is hungrier, he's being placed under more stress than I've ever experienced I'm willing to bet, I don't doubt he's acting out of character, more primal.

a hungry child isn't going to think of other children first, that's just how it is.

Except the little girl.

Except for the girl giving all the other kids her food first.

we are literally watching a video that is supposed to be showcasing exactly that you stupid, stupid fuck

Exactly, their body is in pain, feeling hungry, I get grumpy from being hungry after missing a couple meals.

Look, none is actually getting angry at the kid. With that being said there is always an expectation of decency from human beings, it's not like he was the only one there so had no frame of reference there were other kids there that waited for their turn and took as much as the rest.

If people are angry it would be not at the kid but the behaviour that he seems to exhibit, the idea that if you are bigger and stronger you are entitled to more (which is a very primitive way of thinking)..

Also, she lets them eat first and then eats herself.

But doesn't give it away either. She keeps a deathgrip on it so that it doesn't get taken. She is taking care of others but knows enough to not get taken. Redshirt kid would have ganked that for sure.

But that's still kot necessarily a bad thing. If she let it go only one person would get some, but clinging so hard to it allows her to share it with multiple children equally.

I think that was his point actually, she shares, but is well aware of the possible outcomes

Oh yeah, totally agree. I love that she was sharing but not naive.

The french word for friend "copain" originates from the person whom you shared bread with. Pain = bread in French.

lolwut?
Though that legit sounds cool though.

Both can be used. Masculine: ami/copain. Feminine: amie/copine.

aw, I speak French but never realized this. also, similar thing in Spanish with "compañero" meaning "partner." pan=bread, com=with, ero=substantive. one with whom you share/break bread :)

Pan=bread in latin. Leave it the french to turn it into pain.

It could be the phonetic side of it. Pain sounds a lot closer to the latin "pan".

that is very lovely, thanks for the info

Higher quality? What is this 2004?

Someone break out that 1080 gfy

I mean, the movie released in 1992, and one can't exactly make a gif of better quality than the movie...

The Bluray has been out for a long time

And now i'm sad

Me too. In 20 years this catastrophe will be equal to the concentration camps back in WW2. And whats worse, we knew about those camps and let it happen again.

Not only that, but we condemned and shunned the fleeing victims of this catastrophe, called them names and closed all flight routes. And this in the age of easily accessible information. We'll be judged harshly by history, and we thoroughly deserve it.

I thought my mom was a little strange when she told me she loved to see kids eat. Then I had children of my own and I got it. I loved seeing my children eat and knowing they had enough and weren't desperately hungry. Seeing any child go hungry hurts.

These children are desperate and some have better self control than others but they are children and they are in a terrible situation.

This makes me super sad

[–]Moyou 8

How selfless of her :)

I was trying to figure out what to do for lunch today. I didn't want to do McDonald's because I'm trying to eat healthy.

Shit. This really puts my "problems" in perspective. It's good to remember what's going on in the world sometimes.

What is up with people in here shitting on starving kids. What the kid did in red is not crazy given their situation. What you should be talking about is how amazing it is that the girl shared when she is starving as well and could have easily followed instinct and ate it all herself.

They just hate Arabs.

Oh shit, you're right. I almost forgot this is reddit, after all.

I'm seeing a lot of comments about how saddening this is. If this makes you sad, please don't just ignore it. Please donate to those charities that seek to help the Syrian refugees.

The kid in the red shirt is HUNGRY. He is a CHILD. Do not ridicule him with your eyes. Feel his pain. Do not eat for a day, see how pissed you get.

Think before you type.

Everyone got some in the end.

I was going to say, people really getting angry at a desperate kid who looks like he's under 12...

[–]Yds 11

What about the other kids in this video who were hungry, but did not do what the kid in the red shirt did?

What about them?

I was talking about the red shirt child and the babies on this forum who think they can ridicule a starving child.

What about the other kids? There is no question in your question.

[–]Yds 14

They are hungry, too, but they are not acting like the kid in the red shirt. Everyone is waiting their turn and eating the little food they were given. The kid in the red shirt is the only one who is trying to dominate others to get more. I am not condoning people to "ridicule" him, but there is a difference between his behavior and that of other kids who seem to be equally hungry.

I'm sure he cares so much about internet comments.

Do you need help off of your high horse?

He's also the type of asshat who would steal from others just and desperate as he is. He's not some fucking Angel just because he's hungry.

The red shirt kid is why communism doesn't work.

EDIT: Yes I understand there are children starving and no I'm not judging them and saying they're terrible people. It was a joke (Not calling anyone here stupid).

I mean, he's acting out of hunger and desperation, hardly a good way to judge when many of the problems they're dealing with aren't related to communism but much more linked with capitalism

You could see that the kids in the gif are literally starving there, under capitalism, your perspective is really strange.

Kids passing around scraps of bread in 2016 is why capitalism doesn't work

Well, seems like nothing we do works anymore. I say we return to mercantilism and civilize the space savages.

There's capitalism in the middle east?

Have you ever been to the middle east? The obscenely rich ones will make you question capitalism how you know it

lol this is a real question.. this is why we see capitalist-apologists all the over the place still in 2016, they have no idea what it is.

Capitalism in the middle east makes America look communist lol.

Yes? Are people really this ignorant?

You didn't believe it was 'freedom' America brought to the middle east?

All America and other countries brought was chaos

Edit: Oh I see, I think you missed my point. I said it sarcastically, implying that there is no capitalism in the middle east.

Yep. That must be the ONLY reason the middle east is the way it is

Yes of course.

Don't be so naive, there are so many reasons why that part of the world is so fucked up. From the Sykes-picot (?) treaty, to the, dare I say, awfully belligerent people, soviet incursion usw....

Except extreme poverty rates are declining steadily as is major conflict. We aren't perfect but blaming capitalism when the the Syrian conflict has little to do with capitalism is silly. There has always been war and poverty. If anything capitalism and globalization have reduced these two things.

This comment is beyond stupid. Holy shit. I am not sure I've ever read something as dumb as this.

Yeah people tend to have that reaction when they've been drowned in propaganda their whole life

I have. Your comment.

So explain to all of us how Assad, a Baath party leader, itself a socialist party, is now all of a sudden capitalist because kids are sharing bread.

You can't.

Socialists run Syria into the ground and freshmen polsci majors shout from the parental funded dorm rooms; "See capitalism doesn't work!"

Next thing you and dumbo will tell us is that Venezuela's problems are due to capitalism.

The Ba'ath Party in Syria today functions as an extension of Russian imperialism; it serves the agenda of a capitalist state. It is a far cry from socialism.

What the fuck.

China is run by the Communist Party of China and yet they're probably even more free-market than America... Actions speak louder than words, friend.

Tell that to the people in Venezuela you idiot.

It's okay, the ones in the red shirts are always the ones who die first.

God this breaks my heart.

Last kid I saw was yesterday at lunch, at Ihop. Fat little fuck, who probably never missed a meal in his short life, lost his mind because he got two pancakes instead of three. And his mother did nothing to shut him up. Like, it was so bad, the manager comped us and another nearby table our meals.

I feel like that kid in the red shirt is going to grow up into a huge asshole.

Or also maybe the one who survives. :(

He's a red shirt, he dies first.

That is the reason he'll survive

I'd rather be a living asshole than a dead saint.

Or maybe he's just hungrier than the rest, younger, feeling weaker. Either way, he's a child acting out of desperation, he is probably not focusing on much other than the possibility of food.

Bring them all to the Germany. I am down.

I know someone juuuuust like mr redshirtlittleprick in my office. Fuck that kid.

Yeah fuck the hungry children in a war zone

Or maybe he's a kid who's feeling unbearably hungry.. acting out of desperation?

I know someone juuuuust like mr redshirtlittleprick in my office. Fuck that kid.

I could hear him in my head:

"HEY! HURRY IT UP, PIPSQUEAK! IT'S MY TURN NOW! GET THE FUCK OUTTA THE WAY! OH, WUT? YOU DON'T KNOW WHO I AM? AM MISTER FUCKING RED SHIRT!!!!!!!!"
