The leading Swedish daily has attracted plenty of attention on Sunday for a simply remarkable claim.

According to their sources, Zlatan Ibrahimovic may join Jose Mourinho at Man United to become an assistant manager at Old Trafford.

Aftonbladet appear to have full knowledge that the rumour is way out there, noting the story is an “unexpected turn” and a “real bomb if true”.

The Scandinavian outlet seem to have been in two minds reporting the assistant manager line.

Aftonbladet note that while they have good information that Zlatan will move to Manchester this summer, the assistant manager role is more speculative.

Other clubs chasing Ibra

At the same time, news coming out of the Middle East on Sunday has linked Zlatan with a move to Al-Sadd.

The Qatari club already have Xavi on their books.

The LA Galaxy have also been linked with the Swedish superstar in recent weeks.

Ibra is now a free agent after his contract at PSG came to an end.
