Does anyone else feel like their mates are underrating the appointment of Jose? (self.reddevils)

My Liverpool and Chelsea mate were saying that Jose "is only probably going to be there for two years and leave" and " he's not world class" naming managers like Ancelloti, Klopp (overrated), Guardiola over him (I firmly believe he is the most overrated manager in world football). Sounds like jealousy, all of a sudden now Jose has lost his "world class" status since he's joined Man Utd.

This actually is the main thing for me. Sign a damn 10 year contract, and stay for at least 10 years. There's so much I don't like/want from Mourinho (and nearly every other potential alternative that's out there), but that's the main one.

Of all the things that were stated about us losing our identity since Fergie's left, if we go like Chelsea and have a new manager every few years, sometimes multiple managers in a season, and go through every single top manager around, that's when I really will feel like it's not my Manchester United any more.

(The other thing that will help us if he doesn't instantly sell Memphis, Lingard, Bojack, Pereira, Januzaj, Fosu-Mensah et al, like he did with Lukaku, Matic and De Bruyne)

You'll always have to hear such things when you support a big club. When we win, they blame the refs, when we lose, they celebrate like their team won the CL. Cant wait to hear things like "You got lucky, refs robbed us" when we win the league in the future.

I do think people are also overrating his appointment and miraculously expecting instant success from the first week or so.

He should improve things hopefully but I don't think it'll be all guns blazing yet depending on whom we sign and all too. Hopefully it's much better than "a return to winning more" and top 4 with maybe a better push and all.

I hope we make one clutch signing that helps us push on better than expected in general, even if it isn't the miracle some think it's going to be.
