I'm so glad we didn't sell him to Napoli.

Leg injury came at the right time

Not just this match but the man dragged us along with Rooney and Valencia to the final.

That perfect tackle he made vs Everton was such beautiful technique and determination.

He's finally showing why Belgium see him as a boxtobox and not a no. 10 target man or CM who sits deep.

He's covering ground, his positioning is impeccable as always but he's also making great tackles and producing quality moments of technical ability that create chances.

He was whiskers away from having a hattrick. Twice off the woodwork.

I'd prefer an upgrade in midfield to start but I think he's comfortably ahead of anything Ander or Morgan have shown.

Indespensable squad option that I'd be happy to start unless we can buy a genuine upgrade like Matuidi.

Might be his last match as well

Come on mate people are acting like a mass exodus is going to happen, anyone with a brain that has a properly functioning memory knows he's a good player. He's never come out and said he's unhappy with his role at United, so why would he go. He's an ideal backup/rotation option and until he's vocally not happy with that then i can't see him going.

But yeah i agree, i really like Fella as a player and he was one of the best players on the pitch yesterday.

Jose doesn't like big Belgians.

I think Jose would definitely like Fellaini, he likes big strong combative midfielders. He'll like Schneiderlin as well and I can see him playing Herrera at number 10.

I don't think people really care about the practicalities of squad building. People here just want to sign good players and get rid of players they don't like, and that's just it.

At the moment I just don't see the benefit of shipping off Fellaini. He's 28, so he's still got several years left in the tank, he's a decent Premier League calibre player, and if we sold him we wouldn't get paid significantly.

That aside, our midfield is also in a situation where Carrick's legs are about to go (and he might not get a contract renewal), while Schweinsteiger's legs have pretty much already gone and he's permanently stuck in a physio room.

Why would you get rid of a player who seems happy to serve as depth? He's young, he's physically imposing, and he has a decent eye for goal. Why not keep that?

He went to Rome the other week with his agent to discuss a move. He could easily be gone this summer.

Would be shocked if he left. Can't see Mourinho sanctioning that sale.

Based on what exactly? The dude is terrible with the ball at his feet.

Since when is Mourinho of all managers desperate for midfielders with phenomenal xavi-esque technical ability?

if a possession obsessed manager like lvg can't stop using him, I have no doubts a manager like Mourinho who demands physicality, aerial battles and attritional football will love fella.

Been brilliant. Loads of fans whenever he was named in the line up used to give out about it but I always pointed out that we wouldn't have got top 4 last year without him and we wouldn't have won the FA cup without him.

Best chest in the world! Will be interesting to see how José would use him.

Was he awarded an assist for his chest on Mata's goal?

[–]PreztoEliteDavid "The Wall" De Gea 0

Yeah.

He should be the first and only holder of the Ballon Chest

Ever since LVG figured out how to use him properly, the game at West Ham would have at least been a draw. Too bad Fellaini doesn't just let people pull his hair out without reacting. Thanks, FA Nazis.

The guy is a huge asset to United, with his great height and physicality, he can break up play, important hold up man up top, great defensive responsibility in set pieces.

Very important to us, we definitely miss him when he doesn't play.

He's great with his chest, he's great at holding up the ball, and he's great at set-piece defence. But he's just so terrible with his head, which is really annoying because he gets it to balls so easily. The amount of times I've seen him rubbing his afro in anguish after nodding a headed chance wide this season is ridiculous.

His role in Mata's goal was obviously (and rightfully) overshadowed by Rooney's amazing run, but it shouldn't be underplayed how important his chest to Mata was - it set Mata up perfectly. Not sure anyone else in the team has the chest control to have done as well Fellaini did there.

Important player for United for sure.

I think Felli plays well in a team that has great crossers of the ball. In the current United team, there are good crossers of the ball but not great ones. Imagine if he had becks on the right .....

made me feel like a fool over the past couple of performances for criticizing him. Well done to the lad, he's played really well, offered both an attacking threat and defensive work. Wonder if the next manager would keep him or not.

He might not be the perfect starting player but he surely is one of the best squad players to have in PL. He offers so much against physically strong teams, and I wonder if ppl actually want him sold. We need bench deapth, if he is willing to stay, I dont see a reason to sell him.

I actually thought he missed a lot of headed opportunities yesterday.

He's terrible with the ball at his feet too. Agreed he can be an asset, as he has shown over the last two years. But I fundamentally don't like the style football we're dictated to play when he's in the team, and generally speaking i don't think he's a good enough calibre of player if we want to win the league.

Mate, it's Fellani.
