Keeping Giggs feels like it undermines the manager. It was ok for LVG who was retiring afterwards but not a mourinho or moyes.

It's like having your successor next to you at all times.

We have to employ someone hoping they will stay here for a long time and I don't think keeping Giggs sends that message.

I think he should leave the club and get some experience at being the manager. If he's any good, he can come back.

I think it's a bit complicated situation for Giggs. In case if he leaves and joins another club as a manager, and doesn't do well, then it's very unlikely for United to appoint him as the manager. I think he should work under Mourinho and learn as much as possible. Then again, Giggs surely doesn't care what I think he should or shouldn't do with his career.
