Just to recap a few point. Germany was not represented during the signature of the Treaty which took place where the German Empire was first proclaimed, the location was chosen for this exact reason. The point was to wave off the humiliation of France's defeat AND humiliate Germany further. Germany and its allies was considered sole responsible for ALL the damage caused by the war, they were asked to pay 130 billion Goldmarks. 15% of its territory was given left and right, to France, Poland (newly created country) and others. Other than that, Germany also had to deliver a number of things, near 30 000 planes and all of its navy plus other things. The Treaty forbid Germany to have any plane, artillery or tanks and its army couldn't be bigger than 100k men. Also, a DMZ was setup all along the Rhin. Germany lost the privilege of all of its patents and most of its high traffic commercial water routes were made international water which meant no customs, duty free transit.

The amount Germany had to pay was to stupidly huge, they couldn't deliver on time. The Allies asked Germany to deliver goods instead of money since it couldn't face the economic pressure but they also failed to do that on time which triggered the Allies into the invasion of the Rhur (the biggest industrial zone in Germany) which, in turns, made it even worse for Germany. It was such a huge amount that their debt had to be readjusted TWO TIMES (the final amount was reduced and Germany should have had up to 1988 to pay it which never happened since Hitler got elected in 1939 and the FIRST THING the nazi did was abolishing the debt).

The Treaty was called a "Diktat" even by French people and most importantly German people.

So no, i'm not being downvoted because it's literal Nazi Propaganda but because people are ignorant and everything that could "explain" something they don't like make them cringe. I don't know where you come from but i really doubt it's anywhere near Europe because that's the kind of things you get taught in school here my friend.

Edit: Just to clarify, the Treaty is not the SOLE reason WW2 happened but there is no denying that the german people hated it and the massive economical depression that led Germany to a staggering 6 million unemployed in the 30s is partly due to the irrational demand of the Treaty which lead Germany to depend on the US dollar for its economy. When the US economy crashed, Germany's crashed as well and that led people to more radicalised ideas.
