He was excellent the last two games, though I'm not sure if he's just putting in extra effort to get a place in the England side. We'll see if he can do it long term.

He just keeps getting better in the CM role.

It's not even can he maintain, I want to work out how high his ceiling is.

For someone who's only had 20 or 30 matches in his life in CM he's putting in phenomenal performances.

Technical ability and passing range never in question but his positioning, vision and intelligence keep blowing my mind.

Nice to see his trademark dribbling and defence back as well.

I swear he's the most technically gifted defender on the team too.

Thought he was great and probably man of the match. Good drive, distributed passes well and did a lot of defensive work too.

Also thought Rashford had a good game as well as De Gea.

i think calling it a howler is a bit harsh. yes it's near post but hit with pace and if he had saved it people would be calling it a class save.

thought he did well as he typically does and came up with an important stop against Gayle in extra time

Agreed, loved him growing up and still do, great to see him put in a real captain's performance today! I hope if he comes Mourinho keeps him as a starter be it in CM or CAM.

He's done really well there so far after years of being crap at it under multiple managers.

It's a shame it's at the end of the season because it makes it hard to know whether to sign someone in his position or not.

It might just be a few game purple patch or he might work out long term so it's hard to know whether to stick or twist in the summer.

Hopefully this is the end of him as a striker, he's been truly awful there this season. It would be great to solve the Rooney problem by him working out in midfield

He's getting better but he needs more work if he wants to be a top competitive midfielder. The potential is there and I think Mourinho is going to add the finishing touches to Rooney's midfield potential.

He had a few dodgy passes but i still can't think of anyone who had a better game. Lingards goal was amazing but i don't understand how he got MOTM. I feel like they just give it to whoever scores the last goal lol.
