You don't even notice Mata isn't there to help him sometimes i swear, it looks like he's winger and then one second later he's back defending then sprinting the ball back up field? Machine. Before his injury he looked a little shaky there but has definitely grown into the position. All that practice vs Martial must be paying off.

Yes, he certainly wasn't great towards the end of Ferrgie's time here and he wasn't great last year. I'm not saying he was bad but this is definitely the best Valencia we've seen in a long while.

SAF didn't play him every single match because he was bad. He did everything else well, even at his worst.

Only his crossing let him down during that bad spell of form.

He's back to being our fucking saviour.

If we ever open a hall of fame, he should go in alongside 3-Lung Park. The two have been absolute warriors for us over the years, and he has had to pretty much control that whole right side on his own for the best part of 3 years.

I think that's a totally BS stereotype to throw at him.

Just because he's a beast and works hard doesn't mean he isn't also one of the most intelligent players on the pitch. Him directing around Fellaini at the end was fucking great leadership.

His movement and positioning to always be available for a pass or to make the perfect run to get on the end of Rooney's lofted balls is great.

He's a very bright boy.

Did I say he wasn't intelligent? I'm saying in the past he's been caught out a fair few times on his reading of the game, it's why the majority of us wanted an RB that, well, was an RB. He's gotten better and since coming back from injury has looked like a rock but I am not going to sit here and pretend that this time last year Valencia looked as good as he does recently.
