TBH I got started in WP editing articles about authors I liked, so I was already a little familiar with the way of things once I got around to the heavy stuff.

But I've given up now, it's such a lonely place, only talking to people about editing an encyclopaedia, and only talking to people when there's disagreement.

Reddit's a lot more fun.

I did some contentious editing for a while and continually ran across "WikiLawyering" being used to remove certain points of view.

One battle I didn't win was getting "Goldman Sachs" into the article on "Vampire Squid", despite having a dozen high-quality references to the term being used.

It severely dented my faith in "assume good faith", but I guess I won the war, because the link is in the article now.

It's a bit tricky.

I would suggest using VeraCrypt, because it's backwards-compatible with TrueCrypt, it's open source and has supposedly been audited, and it's cross-platform.

It's pretty easy to download and use, with clear instructions on creating encrypted partitions.

Key is provided either through a keyphrase or a key file.

I use ubuntu, but I don't think the distro matters.

While it looks dramatic, it is probably highly deceptive.

What the eye picks up on is the area of the circle, not the radius, so the effect looks like (dT/dt)2, not (dT/dt).

Still, I guess the moral is good, so a bit of propaganda is likely what is needed.
