Come on lad! It's the second to last post matchday thread, at least put some effort into match information, goals etc

But that sweet sweet karma

Ain't no karma like self-text karma because self-text karma is hypothetical.

I'm just glad someone made one at all. These threads always have some of the better discussion around here.

The answer to all 4 questions/talking points is yes.

  1. What impresses me the most about Rashford is his movement off the ball. He is a nightmare for CB because he can stretch them with his pace.

  2. It is a Cup competition so anything can happen. Crystal Palace have very good wingers (Zaha and Bolasie) but do lack a threat in the striker position. I think we should beat them fairly comfortably like 3-1.

  3. Carrick should be kept purely based on leadership for the dressing room. He has played alright this season and is one of the few players in the squad with a wide range of passing.

  4. It is way way way too early to judge Memphis. He is ceiling is way too high to just give up after one season. The PL is a tough league to adjust to so I say he absolutely deserves a 2nd season and even if he struggles a bit in year 2 I would consider a 3rd year.

I had to watch the NBC stream shudder but they kept saying how much offcamara running Rashford does

I enjoyed that game, but it's shocking that we can't play a full match with the quality of this second half this game.

Been saying it for ages though, Rashford has a brilliant mind for football, the way he leaves balls, like for Rooney this game, shows Scholes level of awareness.

Is Rashford the Future?

  • Depends how he progresses through out the next season or two, we have to remember he is still only 17.

Is the FA Cup doable?

  • Leicester won the league, anything is possible. Plus we are playing Crystal Palace a definitely beatable team.

Should Carrick be kept?

  • He is kind of old, and he wasn't super impressive this season.. so I say no.

Is Memphis good enough?

  • Is he the next Christiano Ronaldo? No, not even close. Is he the best we have right now at LW? Yes. I think we have to give him another season or at least until December-Mid-January before we make any rash moves.

Edit Added Questions

What positions should we enchance in the summer? (Linked with previously)

  • CB Bring on Varane from Real Madrid, or John Stones from Everton

  • CM Rodrigous or Kroos from Madrid

  • RW Bale from Madrid or Lacazette from Oly. Lyon

LVG In or Out?

  • Out, he has to go if not for Man U's sake then for his own.

Should Rooney stay as a Lampard like CM?

  • Not a chance, he should go somewhere where he will play and look good, staying in the premier league isn't gonna be a good plan.

Should Blind stay at CB or replace Carrick at CM?

  • I think he is viable in both positions so rather than limit him, I say to explore the possibilities.

I think Rashford is 18, but your point remains. Also, Memphis has the talent, missing Euros is probably good. Hopefully he and Shaw spend the summer like Januzaj and Shaw did last year and come in fully ready with clear minds.

[–]HurricaneXXVMemphis 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

Yeah, you're correct... He is 18. I wouldn't call Memphis missing the Euros "good," as I think he could get a lot of experience against some of the best players in the world forcing him to get better and as long as he stays healthy it would be extremely beneficial. Sadly there is a chance, and a great one at that, that the he could get injured.

Maybe it would push him on, but he's had a whirlwind few years: breakout at the WC with a game winning goal, final season at PSV, then the move to United and summer tour. Assuming he takes the time to focus on fitness and whatnot, I see the time off as beneficial and a chance to evaluate what went wrong this year and put it behind him. That way he can start fresh with a clear mind.

Unless he's retiring, I really don't know why we won't offer Carrick a 1 year deal and then let him retire next season. He's a good asset to the squad and can be brought on to finish games.

Not to mention a coaching role

Only saw the game from 40mins in, but we actually made some amazing plays at times. Rooney's goal and Mata's chance (where he was fouled in the box after amazing link up with Martial & Carrick) were the intricate passing play we've been praying for all season. Rooney's assist for Young's goal was peachy too.

Tony V and Carrick also both inches away from scoring screamers too - if this had happened mid-season we'd have been feeling great about the game IMO.

Just goes to show what we can do when the pressure is off though. Bournemouth didn't really seem to give a shit.

Hard to draw anything from the game because Bournemouth barely played (and we didn't either in the first half).

Rooney in midfield is good against lower tier teams, but I think he could do it in a counter attacking scheme against the big sides with two players like TFM and Schneiderlin behind him that clean up any messing he makes with poor passes or vacated space. The balls he plays in space a great, and his ability to arrive late in the box and finish is one of his better qualities.
