What is our ambitious project? (self.reddevils)

DiMarzio said that Andrea Berta was judging our ambitious project and Bouhafsi tweeted about our project aswell.

We know that we are appointing 40 people around the world in our scouting but I don't think that's it.

Does anyone have an idea what our ambitious project could be?

    Good question. we've heard lots of talk about LVG's 'philosophy' but not much about MU's.

    In terms of 'project' the obvious aim is to get back to the top domestically and in Europe.

    In my option, from our most transfer activities (Martial, Depay, to some extent the links with Sanches) it looks like we're not afraid to spend big on youth, which makes me think we're trying to emulate the class of 92 with a group of quality youth players who become the core to a WC team.

    I think it makes sense - the money coming into the PL means it'll be more competitive for the top talent so taking a risk and buying them young seems to be viable. It's a nice change from the past where we balked at Hazards fee and ended up missing out on a future PL player of the year.

    I'd probably say it's to do with modernising the club in some aspects - to keep up with the game.

    I.e we do not have a D.o.F, which many of the other big teams in Europe do. Also I've heard that our scouting network was going to be totally re worked and we were going to take on more staff.

    There's obviously an agenda that we should not be where we are at the moment and we need to do whatever is necessary to get back to where we belong.

    I have a feeling it involves concentrating on buying emerging young talents. The evidence I feel is the reworking of the scouting network, our recent purchases of young talent and us being linked with a number of young emerging talent.

    Well that's also months ago and it's long after Easter now too so... Maybe it fell through. A lot could've changed since then.

    Or maybe he doesn't know about it because it's rather odd to say Easter and not have any updates since more than a month after that too. Could well be a case of anything at this point.

    I'd have at least thought there'd be a mention of it whether or not it's delayed or anything by now.

    It really does amaze me though. When people talk about a "project" they don't mean we're going out to build an orphanage in Kenya. Our ambition is to win the European Cup and challenge regularly. That's the project. What else could it possibly be?

    Is it a long term project? Why would Zlatan, who is in his mid 30's, care for United's long-term aspirations?

    I'd imagine it's something we're attempting to do for next season.

    Because Rashford is 18, Martial just turned 20 and Depay is 21, you can't rely on them right now, having Zlatan for a year or two would be perfect.
