Doom resolution on Xbox is a joke. (self.xboxone)

My buddy and I have a ps4 and Xbox between us. We both have doom. Let me just say that when they advertised the game as equally powerful on both consoles that was bullshit. The Xbox version drops resolution in almost every open arena and firefight. You can tell because the text on your shotgun gets noticeably blurred and the back of rooms becomes blurry as well. It does not happen at all as far as I can tell on PS4. I don't mind one console being weaker, but I mind being misled as a consumer. The Xbox version struggles to maintain 1080p almost consistently. Th only time my weapon looks clear is in tiny rooms or vents with little to no action.

As much as I feel like I am just joining in the circle jerk. Why can you not just enjoy games for gameplay and not be so focused on visuals. Did you not grow up playing Goldeneye with four people on one screen? I don't get the infatuation some people have with resolution and how easily some people are dissatisfied with games that don't live up to a 'perfect' standard in regard to visuals.

I play games at 1080p 144hz on my overlocked i5 6600k with an overclocked GTX 980 and I have no problem at all playing Xbox games, just sayin...

I'm pretty sure that at 25 that isn't possible. If you read my comment history you'd see I play plenty of Xbox. What I do with my ps4 (which now belongs to my buddy) doesn't really concern you.

Both consoles use dynamic resolutions and honestly it's so minor in such a fast paced FPS that I wouldn't notice it on that smooth stable 60fps. You have a console and should realize you basically can't have both 1080p or 60fps. If it bothers you that much that your friends PS4 is that much more pixel superior, go buy a PS4?

If 1080p vs 900p at 60fps is that big of a deal, then why even get a console...lol Im just saying, I have the Xb1 and Ps4 and WiiU, and I expect games to not run quite as good, but very close on my Xb1 than what the same game will run on my Ps4. Its just kinda how its been for the last 2 years. Its just expected at this point, how can people expect this to keep being a thing, thats why we have a refresh console cycle soon. It sucks I know, but its how they did things this gen, kinda sucks for us though..

It doesn't keep 60FPS at all times though, it's not major but it does drop frame rate in large fights and during glory kills.

DOOM on PS4 is a complete joke. Look at this PC comparison.

But is the game shit simply because of its resolution? A shit game is a shit game, regardless of how many pixels are on-screen. Conversely, a fun game is still a fun game, regardless of how many pixels are on-screen.

Also, digital foundry would disagree with your comments about how much worse it is on the Xbox one. And since they actually have the proper equipment and knowledge to measure these things properly, I'd be more inclined to listen to what they say, rather than what you say.

But, if having more pixels is the only thing that makes a good game to you, then maybe you need to find a new hobby.

Or, maybe just go outside into the real world. Sure, the gameplay in the real world sucks, but the graphics are amazing.
