I still think something shady went on in the Man City - QPR game in 2012. I have no evidence, it's just the only thing that helps me sleep at night after that.

Joey Barton getting himself sent off... still pisses me off to this day.

Tell me about it. Former Man City player decides to go full caveman just when Man City are looking like they could miss out on the title - how convenient...

It's Joey Barton, he's always going full caveman.

Hey man, don't ruin my narrative. This is a conspiracy okay.

All that happened was they learned the Stoke/Bolton game had finished a draw meaning Bolton were relegated and they were safe so they stopped playing. That and they're QPR and they're shit.

Why we bought Bebe.

theory was as a payoff to mendes/queiroz because nani was doping or on recreational drugs and got sent home from international duty with a made up BS "injury" to avoid being drug tested.

Sir Alex knew Moyes would be a failure and wanted people to know just how much he overachieved with the 12/13 squad.

That's a new one. I'd be on board, but i don't think Sir Alex has that big of an ego, vs his love for United.

It's one I've heard and not one I necessarily agree with.

[–]doesnt_like_pantsHerrera 2ポイント3ポイント  (2子コメント)

It's one I actually touted on here over two years ago.

Imagine how SAF's legacy would've been looked upon if Mourinho or Ancelotti came in and we carried on our winning ways.

Paisley won more for Liverpool but Shankly is always remembered for laying the foundations that enabled that success.

That theory basically says SAF would rather see the club burn than his reputation tarnished. A club he spent a quarter century at. It just doesn't seem feasible.

[–]doesnt_like_pantsHerrera 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

I'm not saying it's an outlandish sentiment, it is.

I just can't help but feel that from all the interviews over his career, his post management work at Harvard etc. that SAF is driven crazy by the concept of respect. I think he needs to be seen as the best there is as well, that it's an absolute minimum requirement for himself to be seen as the best in history and I can't for life of me understand why he didn't want Mourinho taking the reigns other than to keep his own legacy in tact.

I also can't understand why he didn't invest in the squad for nigh on 4-6 years (depending on which part of the pitch you're looking at) before he left. Absolutely ridiculous that he left us with that midfield when it was clear to see, even before he left, that Clevs and Anderson weren't gonna cut the mustard. He bought RvP and thought to himself "yeah, I can milk one last title out of this squad before it turns to shit". He had another 3 year rebuilding job ahead of him like in the early 2000's and simply couldn't be fucked. That's what's left us in the shit.

i don't think Sir Alex has that big of an ego

well....

Anyway, the connected rumour that's done the rounds over the last 3 years is SAF always vetos Mourinho because he doesn't want to be overshadowed.

Not that I believe it.

My semi-related but contradictory conspiracy theory is that Moyes wasn't his sixth choice or whatever but was someone he really thought he could do the job. Basically, he bought into how overrated Moyes was by the English media and thought he was good enough. Clearly, he approached Pep and Ancelotti first but there's no way I can fathom Mourinho turning the job down.

I've said this before. I think the plan was to get Moyes in to fail so the next manager would not be compared as much to SAF. I think LvG was the plan all along since he was supposedly going to take over when SAF was rumored to retire in 2001. That plan just didn't work out unfortunately...

Gerrard's backpass to Drogba was deliberate

Drogba? Do you mean Ba?

No he means Drogba to win Chelsea the league... Ba wasn't exactly a backpass either

Ohhhhhh! May I ask which season this was? Thanks.

Cakir hates us or loves Real.

We'll find out if it's the latter in a few days.

There's always the Bebe one.

And the corresponding Nani doping.

Could someone explain what happened? Never heard the full story.

It's the same thing

Hence "corresponding," but whatever.

De Gea's transfer to Madrid was a conspiracy to weaken Real Madrid by denying them a goalkeeper. Unfortunately Keylor Navas foiled that.

i thought is was just a way to keep ddg by pretending there was a technical error.

everybody knew navas was elite, he beat courtois to the gk of the year in spain

Rio's no-show at the drug test in 2003 which resulted in an 8-month ban was due to the fact that it would returned a positive cocaine test.

Man Utd vs Real Madrid 2013. Both Champions League games. I am 100% convinced it is a conspiracy.

Rooney always plays because of marketing reasons.

always rumours that a lot of our endorsements have minimum rooney appearance clauses and that lvg's forced to play him

other rumours are that rooney's contract since he re-signed with moyes has minimum minutes clauses with severe financial penalties for the club if he doesn't get his minutes

The latter wouldn't surprise me at all. He held Moyes over a barrel and Moyes totally caved. Fergie realized his mistake in giving Rooney everything he wanted in 2010 and tried to rectify it by forcing him out when he retired.

Obviously the Nani red card

Demi utd but I think uefa leant on refs during the late 00s when English clubs looked very very strong. It should have been utd Chelsea back to back

Woodard is here for the investors, not here for the club.

[–]doesnt_like_pantsHerrera 4ポイント5ポイント  (0子コメント)

That's more truth than conspiracy.. The very nature of a CEO is that their interests should align first and foremost with investors otherwise you get what are called conflicts of agency.

not a conspiracy, that's his job.

  • Our players were doping which is why the club helped rio escape and didn't crack down on him hard. Same thing with Nani.

  • SAF had a network of contacts in the PL network and regularly bought 50/50 decisions by a combo of money and intimidation. Which is why he was less successful in Europe.

  • Stam said in his book that SAF told our players to dive and cheat in big CL matches.

Article: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/2215755/fergie-told-us-to-dive-stam

MANCHESTER UNITED defender Jaap Stam has caused a further stir in his autobiography by claiming that Sir Alex Ferguson encouraged his side to dive in an attempt to earn penalties when playing in Europe.

The Dutchman says that the English players in the squad found it hard to adopt the policy of going to ground easily, but that Ferguson believed that it was fair game on the continent.

"It's got to the stage where he has even told us: 'Don't try and stay on your feet if you're in the box and get a slight kick," Stam revealed in his autobiography being serialised in the Mirror.

"He wants us to copy other sides we face in European competitions and go down to win a penalty.

"Far too often English players seem determined to keep running after getting a whack on the leg, even though the chance to get a shot in has gone.

"I don't think diving has caught on with the English youngsters yet, as their fair-play mentality stops them from taking a tumble.

"Coaches at academy levels are honest and would stamp out that kind of cheating from their team.

Stam says that he does not advocate diving, as he is often penalised as a result of a forward going to ground under one of his challenges.

"I admit to becoming frustrated by the frequency of diving in the Champions League.

"Players from Holland and Scandinavia aren't divers, but those from Spain and Italy go down far too easily for my liking.

"Even players in Germany are used to taking a dive. In all those countries it looks like they have been brought up with it since their schooldays.

"It's tricky for me to take a dive, though. If I fall down under the slightest kick, I'm going to look stupid falling down like I've been shot."
