There is nothing wrong with burning the American flag... if you do it properly! When you have an old flag that is not fit to fly anymore, you have a flag burning ceremony. PSA: Please do not try this at home! Send/Give the flag to a military base/police station or other appropriate destination for cremation. There is a specific protocol and it is always best to hand the flag over to people who know what they're doing.
