Signed a contract extension either 1 or 2 summers ago. Hopefully he'll get some cup games next season and some sub appearances in the league. If tumors are to be true that both he and Januzaj have attitude problems then the obviously won't have a future here.

Apparently the rumors are that he and Januzaj are showboating for the U21's, which unimpressed LVG. You put a kid in a space where he has proven over and over again that he is a class way above the rest and you expect him to be content. If these rumors are to be true I do not agree with his actions, but I do not blame him either. Could it be that he has that special "samba" formula in his blood.

I agree but you're likely to get downvoted.

He and Januzaj have shown they're first team quality, maybe not as starters but to not have a look in when they could be developing really winds me up when we're giving other youngsters a chance.

Exactly my point. And not only in our U21's has he proven himself but for Brasil as well...

I'd like him to succeed, he looked really lively in preseason. But it's tricky, his best position is in the 10 role, and so is Mata's, Januzaj's, and maybe Herrera and Rooney.

Then they should either loan him out or let him go. IMO, greatest young talent we have at the moment.

He has the skill set, just needs to be given the chance to show it. I've seen his skill and potential in the reserve matches - quite a player.

He's too inconsistent even at u21 level, he drifts in and out of games too much. In hindsight he should've gone out on loan this season really

Arsenal turned down a move for Payet earlier in his career because of inconsistency.... If there's a glimpse of something special then invest in it. Give this kid chance and I agree, we should've loaned him out this season

The problem with that methodology is how expensive it is to 'invest' in these players nowadays.

Sure, Pereira is a bit of a different case since he's already at the club, but Renato Sanches could cost up to 80 million and he's nearly three years younger than I am. Sterling was 50, Martial was 50, the likes of Kingsley Coman are going to be up in their 30s-40s, maybe higher.

We can't just go out and throw money at every talent in hopes they come good. For every Martial or Ronaldo, there's going to be dozens of Ravel Morrisons.

Buying a hyped up teenager today is tens of millions, and it's not a risk we can just take constantly, and Payet isn't a great example. You can't use someone who had a stormer of a season with West Ham when they're 29 as an example of why you should invest in someone.

Last i read he was clowning around with Januzaj trying to score from corners in the U21 matches so ended up being out of favour.

Be, I like him. If it's his behaviour that's causing his omission that's sad.

I would play him in a Midfield three with Blind and Morgan or LW/RW. Our version of Oscar or dare I say it Iniesta? I dare not.

People talk a lot on this sub about whether or not Mourinho will be good for youth development, and while forgetting the bigger problem of the sheer number of quality players that are under-performing and/or not getting any game time under LVG.

LVG plays a handful of youth players b/c of incredible injury crisis and gets full credit for being a great coach who transitions youth into the first team. Which is strange since none of these young players would see the light of day if all the first team players were healthy.

Even more troubling is the long list of players (Pereira included,) that could walk into so many different clubs as a starter, are out of form under this manager. We've seen many great players who also under performed in Louis' United then got shipped off and are playing like their top quality selves again.

And many people here still think LVG will be a good option for another year at United. His previous sackings doesn't sway them. And the fact that he did so well was b/c of the world class players at his disposal. The only justification I can see for keeping LVG is if we had already signed 2 or 3 world class players before announcing "LVG to finish contract." And since no top player wants to play in a team with one of the lowest goals scored in the league, the chances of that happening is lower than me winning the Mega Lottery.

He scored a nice goal against Ipswich from a free kick, and that's not enough to rate him really. Hopefully he'll get more matches to play in the coming season. Surely talented, but he needs to improve a lot more.
