That hurts to read...

Thats pretty dire. Surely no other club comes close to this. Goals this season, rather than being a source of comfort, have almost always been an invitation for the other team to get into the game.

Thanks for gathering these stats

There was a fairly damning stat of Everton on /r/Soccer the other day about them conceding 2 goals within 6? mins 10 times this season.

But yes this is a mentality issue, "mind coaches" are still a funky area in sport and i wonder if its something that is being done?

Because unlike many big clubs where a lead is a statement of intent and you choose to continue making them your bitch and don't give up, we concede like underdogs and then respond like underdogs, lacking the competence to continue on and push for another goal, instead giving them room to move and score.

This speaks so much about are mentality on going ahead in games. Not once this season was i confident we would see out a game comfortably. We score, we play good and positive possession based football, then we just stop and seem to think, it's time to let them have a go with the ball, let's sit back and invite them into our half for the craic and see how we fare.

I just don't get how they can be so incompetent. Like, completely irregardless of LVG here just do your fucking job, mark your man and don't let them have time on the ball. Just ridiculous how professional footballers can be so utterly useless at defending in important moments and after gaining a lead.

Cheers, wanted to do this also after the match on Tuesday as it's been very evident throughout the season how much our team bottles it after conceding a goal.

It's NEVER been this bad. And there has to be a reason why - it's no good saying "lvg" as a low hanging fruit logic here like most ..
Youngsters, league first timers, lack of a calming influence...

The guys are playing with heightened anxiety but scoring a goal should mean the opponents have it not us!!

Sir Alex Ferguson said it best, "Complacency is a disease". We still haven't found the cure.

But sacking LVG will be a step in the right direction.

This is incredible.

It really makes me question the technical quality of our players. I swear we score goals, the other side gets a bit of responsive momentum, and suddenly we cannot hold the ball for more than 3 passes.

You would really think after 2 seasons of focusing on possession we could hold onto the ball when it actually matters.

Yeah i know. We only won 2 of the games in that list.

Unsure about this statistically, but I can tell you its too many.

I don't have any numbers but it sure feels like it's been happening a lot. It was extreme against west ham though...

On a side note, i also wonder how many consecutive corners we've had without scoring. It's like i don't even care when we get one, 'cause i know it's not gonna be a goal.

[–]DJMattyMDe Gea 1ポイント2ポイント  (3子コメント)

Because you know it's gonna get passed short, corner taker over laps down the line towards our net, it's passed to him, he passes to the centre mid, then it's passed to the centre half, next thing you know De Gea's stood on the edge of his area with the ball at his feet.

God i hate how often this happens

[–]DJMattyMDe Gea 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

It's dire mate

[–]Rolling_TomassiShaw 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

What a load of bollocks. I can guarantee you that hasn't happened more than 3 times this season. Obviously I'd rather it never happen but this is really the least of our worries.
