Rooney finished his first season as the club's highest goalscorer and yesterday Martial tied his record in the league for his debut season.

Rooney- Age: 19. 11 goals and 4 assists in the league. 17 in all competitions

Martial- Age: 20. 11 goals and 7 assists (3 in the league). 17 in all competitions

I thought the parallels were quite intresting. If Martial turns out anything close to Rooney it would be amazing for the club's future

am not sure but i think Martial played a lot more than Rooney did back then.on the other hand Martial is playing in a soulless team lead by a has-been manager.

That rooney debut hat trick though what a talent he was, sad to see his role and performances diminish the last couple of seasons

Rooney was a beast back then, even better than Martial.

But Rooney got to play with Scholes, Keane, Ruud, Ferdinand, Neville etc Martial has to play with crap bottlers who he has to carry every game.
