Sir Alex Ferguson and Mauricio Pochettino have been pictured having lunch together in a London restaurant - immediately sparking rumours that the Tottenham boss could be on his way to Manchester United.
United boss Louis van Gaal's position at Old Trafford remains unclear, with Jose Mourinho consistently linked with the United hot-seat since his dismissal from Chelsea last year.
But the luncheon, at Scott's in Mayfair, was reportedly a long-standing engagement and not a recruitment bid by Ferguson.
Pochettino has verbally agreed a new five-year contract with Spurs after a fine season. They are in second place in the Premier League going into the final game of the season.
Ferguson has previously made clear his admiration for the former Espanyol and Southampton boss.
"The manager [Pochettino] has been fantastic," he said back in March.
"They have a bad record of managers, there is no doubt about that. They have had so many over the years, but this lad has composure. You never see him ruffled and the way his team play is a testimony to the work he is doing."
