What is The Trump Deck?
The Trump Deck is a standard deck of playing cards which have been modified to have Donald Trump's face superimposed onto images of people that he has insulted over the years. This parody deck is dedicated to those whom Trump has denigrated, belittled, mocked, or bullied by turning the tables on him in a lighthearted and humorous way.
With this deck expect guffaws, cackles, and roars. Laugh until you cry!

Why The Trump Deck?
Because it's funny! It's entertaining and creative. It's both a standard deck of playing cards, as well as includes the rules for a game entitled, "Trump."
What is the inspiration for The Trump Deck?
Before she passed away several years ago, my grandmother taught me a two-person card game she called "Trump," the rules of which are similar to 3-13 rummy and is played with a standard deck of playing cards. My grandmother's version of "Trump" is not the same as "Trumps" which involves making tricks and bidding. Instead, the gist is that you want to stick your opponent with as many cards (and points) as possible by laying down straights of 3 or 4 cards, and/or triplets and quadruplets of a given number. The interesting thing is that the game is a series of 13 hands, where the wild or "Trump" card changes with each deal.
One recent evening, while playing Trump with my wife and laughing at our current deck of cards, we realized that we should be playing Trump with Donald Trump parody cards. Because Donald Trump owns casinos and loves to emblazon everything he touches with his name and gaudy gold accents, there must already be thousands of decks of cards out there with the Trump logo. So The Trump Deck needs to be different, and different it will be!
How will The Trump Deck be created?
The Trump Deck will be a crowd-sourced series of images on a standard deck of cards, where each image represents someone, a group, or community that Trump has disparaged over the years. A short list might include politicians, celebrities, Latinos, women, LGBTs, religious groups... the list is enormous and seems to grow everyday! The fun part is that Trump's face will be pasted into situations and places that we would never expect to find the real Trump. And with the creativity of the Kickstarter and graphic arts communities, there is no doubt that some of the images produced are going to be hilarious. While it will be a standard deck of cards, the images on each card face will be unique.
Who is going to create the images for The Trump Deck?
As you can tell, I'm a novice when it comes to Photoshop and Illustrator skills, so we're going to enlist the creativity and skills of the Kickstarter community to help us make this deck. The cards included here are just samples of what we hope will be submitted and voted into the final deck of cards. Through the website TheTrumpDeck.com, we will collect images from graphic artists and illustrators worldwide and compile and sort them to select the most unique and funny. We are going to screen to prevent use of copyrighted material, and the guidelines for designers will be posted on TheTrumpDeck.com to ensure that we steer clear of using protected images. Photographers and artists will get paid and assigned credit for their contributions if used in the final deck (see TheTrumpDeck.com for details).
We hope that graphic designers will be inspired and get started on their own Trump images right away. This is an opportunity to poke fun at Trump's grandiose persona in a creative and fun way, while producing a lasting record of his candidacy to laugh at for years to come.
How can I support The Trump Deck?
You can contribute here at Kickstarter, with rewards at levels from $1 to >$250. All levels at $10 and above receive at least one deck of cards (including shipping) as part of their rewards. Should a single benefactor want to ensure that this project is a success, just contribute the full $15,000!
In addition to financial support here at Kickstarter, you can support us with your creativity and contributions to the crowd-sourced images. We need photographers to donate images to the creative commons, graphic artists and illustrators to turn those into parodies of Trump, and the community to provide feedback and vote on what they think belongs in the final deck. The face of each card will be unique, and the back of the cards will have a custom design as well, so there's lots of material to create.
One of best things you can do is pass this along to as many people as possible. We need your help spreading the word and building demand for The Trump Deck.
There is also going to be a series of voting to allow supporters at the $50+ level to decide which images make it into the deck. All artists that get a card into the deck will be paid for their creations. If we raise the funds of our goal, graphic designers will get $50 per image that makes it into the deck. We'll create stretch goals that proportionally pay our designers more if/when we raise more than the initial goal.
What do my funds pay for?
The startup funds raised at Kickstarter are to pay for the graphic designers and artwork for the card faces and card back as well as the initial setup and printing costs of the first edition of cards. These funds also cover design and printing the card boxes, rules, and scorecards for my Grandmother's version of "Trump," and shipping backers their rewards (the reality is that shipping is a large portion of our costs).
The possibilities for this deck are endless, and we are excited to see what the graphic artists out there can create. Designers are welcome to start working on images immediately (specifications will be at TheTrumpDeck.com in the next few days/weeks), and once funded we'll start collecting and voting on them.
The cards are going to be premium quality, so they'll last for years to come. All the cards are going to be manufactured and printed in the USA.
When will the The Trump Decks be delivered?

Risks and challenges
Trump's campaign has already outlasted most experts expectations, so it is quite possible that it lasts until next summer, or he could change his mind tomorrow and drop out of the campaign. Therefore, one of the most difficult parts of this project is speed to deliver the cards while Trump is still relevant. Should he drop out after we've raised the funds, we will continue to make the deck as planned as a lasting "tribute" to his candidacy.
There is also the issue of steering clear of copyrights. To ensure that we do so, we are in the process of developing an intellectual property plan that will be published as part of the design requirements for images when TheTrumpDeck.com starts collecting images.
We anticipate that once funded it will take 5 weeks to complete the graphic design of the deck, including all the voting and input from backers. From there, it will take another 5 weeks to print, and deliver the cards to your door. This is a very aggressive timeline, and while we would love to guarantee cards by the end of the year, please be patient with us so we can ensure that we develop and deliver the highest quality product possible.
