Andrea Berta as DOF and Jose Mourinho as manager. No one in the CO92 is mature enough to take a senior position based on the things they did or said. Otherwise, they would be successful by now.

First, you're mssing the point or don't agree? I'm talking about continuing the culture of the club from within, as Bayern or Barca do. So who the people are, is not the main issue here. It's important that the DoF knows and represents the clubs culture and values for the future and sake of the Club. Surely some of players from Fergie's era, one of the club's most successful eras, would be interested in continuing the Club. But maybe Berta could do a fine job, maybe he'd be better as chief scout? A mercenary can do the job, but it'll never be the same. That would just be business and don't forget the Glazers are just doing business. They don't care about the club.

Second. Bergueristain, Zubizarreta or Zorc didn't have any credentials beyond being intelligent players 110% devoted to the club and the sport when they were appointed DoFs by Barca and Dortmund.

Third. Sticking a finger in the opponents coach's eye can't hardly be called mature. Charlton is right no United manager would ever do that, talking a about Club values again. If we don't trust Charlton and Ferguson, do we trust United. Or is it just about plastic entertainment?

Matthias Sammer has proved that he can be a Borussia Dortmund legend as a player and yet an excellent DOF for Bayern without being immersed in Bayern's culture to begin with. On this, I rest my case. Do you see Gary Neville or Paul Scholes being good people to promote the club to other players from various horizons? The only position they would fit at the most as of now would be as first team coaches.

I don't trust Charlton because his opinion of Mourinho ended up hurting the club for the last 3 seasons as a result, indirect or direct. Furthermore, the so-called club values mean squat as a way to achieve success (ask Liverpool who remind blinded by their own ideals). It's more than time for him to retire, and let pragmatic and competent people do the job.

Sammer is German in a german Club.

Of course Gazza and Scholsie whould and could do a great job they're intelligent, hard working and know the game and the club, have you seen how high Scholes is regarded among the best players in the world. They've got everything to be a success they'd be great also as coaches (not in spain without speaking spanish).
Charlton is an absolute United legend who requires the utmost respect, but yeah he'd probably retire soon anyway. Ferguson is a live a kicking which is why he's dining with Poch and why United haven't appoint Jose yet. I trust Ferguson him and I think every United fan should do so. Come on Mauricio, come to Manchester!!!

Oh please shut up. You can't live in the past. That's a Liverpool thing to do.

The clubs culture is to win trophies. We haven't won 20 league titles for nothing.
