Except any match in this league is difficult, he isn't going to come out and say "yes but they are newly promoted and should be an easy match".

If any other manager said this it'd be a non story to you.

He could simply not mention it and say we are prepared and the players are fit and ready for the game. Constantly saying players are tired and the games will be tough is terrible for a players mental. Keep saying it and they will believe it.

I feel like you're needlessly finding fault with LVG here. This line is used all the time. Every manager every week talks up the opposition.
