It's a pretty nice article. There is a minor bugbear of mine in here though.

In reality, there are more castrated men alive today that at any other point in history. 

You see statistics like this all the time and they're totally meaningless. You know what there are more of today than any other point during history?

Well obviously that's different, but surely there have been more eunuchs per capita in the past. It was a decent sized industry in the Ottoman Empire, wasn't it?

I came across this article while searching stories on GoT. I'd always know about, or at least heard about, eunuchs. But didn't realize there were more alive today then there ever were. It seems because many are so because of prostate cancer.
