Inb4: Trump got second place in a one man race, he should drop out

[–]aCreditGuru#NEVERTRUMP [スコア非表示]  (9子コメント)

Honestly I'd give a good laugh if it happened. It would have been a pretty big hail mary to watch Trump shift to the left off his positions when he thinks he's running unopposed and see the true nature of 'My father was a mailman'

Yeah, Ted cant win, id support him, but its to late in to many places, I would still support him if he ran, he could go as a third party, to act as a spoiler, to make sure that neither party wins the General.

(If Kasich goes for VP, he should totally do that, the perfect revenge)

[–]TheRollingTideONE PARTY [

Only he wouldn't spoil both parties. The Democrats will unite and win if the GOP splits up.

[–]aCreditGuru#NEVERTRUMP [スコア非表示]  (2子コメント)

But Trump said he doesn't need to unite the party...

[–]TheRollingTideONE PARTY [

And that's why he will lose. He does need everyone's vote.

Pride comes before a fall, I guess?

[–]PumaplayssdReagan was best [

Nah, you dont get it, its revenge, you spoil my chance, ill spoil yours

[–]TheRollingTideONE PARTY [

Cruz's chance got spoiled? I like Cruz, but last I checked he is losing an election. Not having his chances spoiled by unfair rules.

[–]PumaplayssdReagan was best [

No, I mean Kasich, when he essentially said to Ted Cruz

"Hey ted, ya want to win, well too bad"

[–]TheRollingTideONE PARTY [

Oh, I get ya. Yes Kasich is playing for major rule changes to get the nomination, and when that doesn't happen I wouldn't be surprised to see a third party run. The man is crazy.

Is he still on the ballot? He probably will win if he is.

Am Nebraskan, he is still on the ballot. Suspending campaign doesn't equal dropping out. It simply means your gonna stop campaigning.

[–]Thadster [

Why do they suspend them typically though?

[–]CherryCokeNixonBuckleyite Conservative [

I think it has to do with campaign finance law

[–]Thadster [

Campaign finance law is why they all suspended their campaigns?

[–]CherryCokeNixonBuckleyite Conservative [

Yeah, theres some kind of financial advantage to suspending a campaign vs. ending it. I think it has to do with debt.

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/why-do-candidates-suspend-their-campaigns-instead-of-ending-them/article/2578848

Legally, "suspending" a campaign means nothing to the Federal Election Commission. But eventually a candidate has to formally terminate his campaign with the FEC. Before that, it needs to finish paying staff salaries, wind down any leases and pay off debt.

[–]Thadster [

Do they typically do this when they are winning?

[–]BubbaMetzia#NeverTrump [

Everyone who files the paperwork to be on the ballot is on there unless they request to be removed (like Rubio did for California). So Trump, Cruz, Kasich, Rubio, and Carson are all on the Nebraska ballot.

I think the last poll done there was from two years ago, so it is a mystery.

What if the suspension of his campaign was actually designed to shake Kasich, cause Trump to move left as he's been doing, and create an opening for Cruz to return if he picks up a few states?

To be honest, it's not impossible either. The Great Plains and the west is where he seems to exceed.

If Cruz keeps crying about how unfair it is thank him for a Clinton presidency. This needs to stop; get behind the nominee to beat Hillary Clinton. That is the only objective at this point.

[–]CherryCokeNixonBuckleyite Conservative [

If Cruz keeps crying about how unfair it is

Isn't that literally what Trump spent weeks doing when Cruz was running circles around him at state conventions?

Trump does what Trump does because he can. Nobody else can do what Trump does without it backfiring on them.

[–]CherryCokeNixonBuckleyite Conservative [

Yeah, it's incredible.

It is kind of spooky actually... I would not take Trump's abilities for granted.

He only said this to Glenn Beck so he wouldn't cry, the media is making this out to be way more than it is.

[–]DanburyBaptistInalienable Rights of Conscience [

We'll see.

[–]Golden_oldies56 [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

We probably will see Glenn cry again, he comes off as weak frequently. Quiet possibly on some sort of drug.

Huge Cruz supporter here, I voted for him absentee. For the love of liberty, i hope the Cruz campaign has some inside info on the matter.

I planned on voting for him in my state's primary even before I saw this. I don't think it will change anything, but it allows me to vote with a clean conscious.

[–]Colonize_The_Moon [スコア非表示]  (3子コメント)

Has anyone told him that he's still not mathematically capable of winning on the first ballot, and that Trump only needs fewer than half of the remaining delegates in order to get the nomination?

Cruz would be better served by attempting to shape the platform at the convention. He stands no better chance now than he did before Indiana.

[–]DanburyBaptistInalienable Rights of Conscience [

The first ballot isn't nearly as earth-shattering as you think it is. A contested convention is not the end of the world.

Cruz will never get the nomination now. No way. He even knows it.

That is only reason he is potentially running is yo shape the agenda. He said he will not have a contested convention

Republicans didn't want him when he was running, they don't want him now either.

"Republicans" 😂😂😂

[–]CherryCokeNixonBuckleyite Conservative [

Yeah, exactly. More like populist Democrats, Independents and a random assortment of Jersey Shore rejects and rednecks.

He honey Dicked Trump into showing his true Liberal Moderate views. Now he is banking on people having buyers remorse
