ISIS isn't accepted as representative of Islam or muslims and as a society we've become more accepting of the transgendered. you can't explain that.

What ViolaExplosion said.

Transgendered is seen in a bad light. It best to just say trangender people so there is no unintentionally negative meaning behind your words.

Not to mention "transgender" isn't a verb, you can't just add "ed" to the end like that

if you wanted to get grammatically anal about it, "transgender" is a descriptive adjective being used as a noun. you can't explain that.

Dude you're kind of saying the equivalent of " I love the blacks" or "I have best friends who are gays." It's just a bit awkward sounding and makes it seems like you're "othering" someone.

What does that link prove?

I'm just tying to tell you that trans people don't like being called transgendered. Why is that hard to understand? The word negro is in the dictionary but that doesn't mean you could call a black person that.

you mean transgendered. it isn't uncommon to see transgenders use the word transgendered. knee jerk reaction is knee jerk.

context bro/sister. retain perspective or prepare to be accused of being racist.

You don't call someone a boyed or girled or gayed so why transgendered?

red squiggly line under transgendered. right click, drop down, trans-gendered. i guess it's hyphenated. my bad.

Not to be like … nit picky but for future reference could you not refer to trans folks as the transgendered? It's just like kinda unintentionally dehumanizing and transgendered isn't even a thing b/c transgender isn't a verb. Like this isn't to be rude so sorry if it comes across as rude,, but it's just a little thing that I'll see sometimes and you're just the straw that broke the camels back and had me comment sorry.

and using descriptive adjective as a defining noun isn't problematic?

"look at all the transgenders."

i guess one could call them "trans folks" like you did? kinda comes across like circus folk or gypsy folk. maybe like trans-kin or something?

ya know supposedly tranny was once the preferred politically correct nomenclature among the transfolk.

Ya, in the same way it's not at all a problem to call people of color "coloreds." (Thanks grandma and grandpa from Oklahoma, that will never confuse me or get me in any trouble at all)

ya, in the same way ignoring context isn't a problem. is there a comparable historical context associated to term "transgendered"? fuck no, this is just where hypersensitivity meets grammar nazi.
