PayPal co-founder to serve as Trump delegate

Prominent tech entrepreneur Peter Thiel will serve as a pledged delegate for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald TrumpDonald TrumpMemo to Bushes, other GOP holdouts: get on the Trump Train Cruz floats restarting campaign if he wins Nebraska primary Trump swipes at Rubio for VP comments MORE in California.

Thiel is listed as one of Trump's 172 delegates ahead of California's June 7 primary, according to The Sacramento Bee.

Also on Trump's delegate list are House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.).

Thiel is best known for co-founding PayPal. He also co-founded Palantir, a big-data software company that is presently valued at roughly $20 billion, making it the fourth-largest private internet company worldwide.

Thiel was the first outside investor in Facebook and also funded other major tech startups including Spotify, Stripe and SpaceX.

He donated $2.6 million to Ron Paul's super-PAC in 2012 and has given to other libertarian causes over the years. Thiel, who is openly gay, has publicly supported gay marriage and medical marijuana use. 

Dennis Revell, former President Reagan’s son-in-law, and California state Senate Minority Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) are also on Trump's delegates list.

“We believe that our delegation represents the economic and grassroots community diversity of California,” said Tim Clark, Trump’s California strategist. "We feel very good about it.”

Trump will face no challengers in California's primary.
